I guarantee he's already wondering if it was the right choice. I feel Chelsea is an incrediblely risky place for young players to go. It's too unstable and erratic, and there is loads of competition, it's very easy to just get lost in the bench, in the reserves or being farmed out on loan.

There were some on here saying Chelsea are a little better these days with regards to young players and I agree to an extent, but I still believe it's a gamble and there are better options.

Definitely could find himself 4 choice at this rate , see he wasn't in the squad tonight. Injured? Ah ok 2 yellows

This is the problem now. Potentially 4th choice, but earning millions of pounds a year. It's very clear what 100% drives top level football and it can be seen as clear as day with that farce of a tournament out in America, funded by the Saudis.

To be fair, it’s also the fact that in order to get to the level of football these guys are at you need to have an ego and back yourself.

When Delap signed that contract he’d be thinking that he’s better than any other striker options and he’ll prove it

Agree with all of the above on Delap , but it can all turn sour in the blink of an eye at a club like Chelsea.

Not a defensive midfielder according to their forum, but can play deep a dictate play. So sounds to me like a deep lying playmaker which is actually what we need.

No idea apart from that though.

He sounds like a legendary hardcase from any estate in Britain in the 80’s, like Denzel Dumfries.

Maybe it’s the alliteration, maybe it’s the place name surname, but it does.

Got regular work in clubland and summer season at Pontins in the late eighties. Had a couple of appearances on The Comedians but pretty much disappeared after that.
