There's no world where Grealish is worth £40m at 29 off the back of an awful season.
The only way I can see it happening is as a face saving measure where he is "sold" for £40m but in reality a bunch of that is to cover his excess wages that City will have to agree to if they want him gone.

Everton are considering a move for Manchester City’s James McAtee
Moyes is a big admirer and there has been dialogue with Man City

£40m for a 29 year old who potentially might be significantly past their best is too much for us. And then you are taking on his wages as well which will be high. I would love to see Grealish here but not at that kind of cost.
Each club to their own, but that sort of signing for us needs to have way more upside and be younger with an upward sloping career trajectory.

McGinn 31 in October, on £120k a week, swerve.

Getting some proper disparate links.
Hard to know which, if any, are true (you’d expect Boyland to have a bit of itk about him, but maybe it’s a closed shop under Friedkin and Moyes)

Thierno is probably the only one worth taking notice of at the moment.
Stuff like Harrison will also be his agent putting a word into the papers and although he might be an option for Everton, he could also be like 5th choice winger on the wish list as we'd have probably already signed him if we really wanted him.
Douglas Luiz, Kubo, etc... I imagine if we sign any of these type of players then the news will move very quickly.

Don't need McGinn now Gueye has signed, similar player.
Go all in for Luiz. Hopefully.

Is mcatee even any good? Does having a tidy young player change this side? Does it change it enough?
