What ITKs?
The Rebuild
Re: The Rebuild
You would like to think that we would have enough flexibility in our budget to go a little over our planned expenditure if the right players come along.
Some of the players we are seeing linked would instantly make our team better and so we would be silly not to make it happen as long as it doesn’t risk our financial position.

I would say that’s between 0% and 100% accurateMayorFarnham wrote: ↑Mon Jul 07, 2025 7:50 pm 50 to 100 mill is a hell of a spread for someone who claims to be ITK.
Re: The Rebuild
Kieran McGuire amongst others, I’m not saying they are right, I’m saying that’s what they say.

Re: The Rebuild
To be fair though (and I'm acutely aware that I have just done this myself in a recent post), but anybody who claims we have £x to spend definitely doesn't know what they're talking about.
Not only is the last & current year (p&s dates) still not fully extracted, but the exact nature of the new ownership and their mechanism of obtaining ownership isn't well publicised.
When taken with the fact a players contract (£30m over 3, 4 or 5 years is dramatically different "on the books", but still looks like £30m this summer) means it's just nonsense trying to put a figure on it.
I say £120m and someone on toffeeweb says £100m? There's legitimately no difference from an accounts/p&s point of view. 1 player is on a 5 year contract instead of a 3 year one.

Re: The Rebuild
We’re still up there in the betting odds behind spurs and Napoli. I think if it was purely about getting in the England squad we look as good a club as any for him, better than a foreign club or big club where not guaranteed to play, if he is desperate to play for England we would be getting a very talented and hungry player. But looks like man city want to sell for 40 million rather than loan. would be a risk but maybe we can structure deal in a beneficial way. Would love him at our shiny new homeMayorFarnham wrote: ↑Mon Jul 07, 2025 8:48 pm Has it just gone quiet on Grealish or has it been debunked.
Re: The Rebuild
Nah, it's sound. We're selling the women's team and Goodison to ourselves for a couple of hundred mill, then we're breaking the transfer window again.
Re: The Rebuild
Probably stay in London but I'd be looking at that Tyrique George at Chelsea all day

Re: The Rebuild
Given the risk to cost ratio I think Grealish’s fate will be decided late on in the window.
I don’t get the hype with Douglas Luiz. I always thought he was a bit crap and then had two really good seasons under emery so I don’t know where his real form is. I can’t speak to his time at Juve but seems to have flopped when the pressures on. If we bought him then I wouldn’t be confident defensively with him and Gana as neither are really physically commanding. They’d struggle if we’re playing more open and Luiz would look crap if in a more defensive structure. It would probably work well if we bought a DM and luiz but may as well put the money he’d cost towards a younger playmaker with higher potential if we go down that route.
