Former Tottenham midfielder O'Hara is known as a pundit who often likes to talk big.
And he could not help getting a few digs in about the deal involving Johnson and McNeil when discussing it with ex-Aston Villa forward Agbonlahor live on talkSPORT.
Among the jabs was the rather cruel comment "we'll give you cr*p, we'll give you cr*p back" when discussing the merits of the deal between the two sides.
In fairness to Johnson, he refused to take the barb lying down and hit back in the comments on talkSPORT's Instagram page.
Johnson wrote: "Won more than both of these put together" with a crying with laughter face emoji.

Re: Brennan Johnson
Ohara did say the comments were taking out on context following BJs response, and he was referencing how they were both crap last season, not as players.sam of the south wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2026 8:42 am The like is for BJ showing a bit of fire at that absolute melt

I know when I am unsure about something, or if I am making an important life decision, it's people like Jamie O'Hara I look to for guidance and wisdom.
Re: Brennan Johnson
On the plus side we have a few players still to get off the books this summer who are entering their final year of their contract. Alcaraz, Patterson, Irogbunum and Beto, which will bring in a few quid.
I'd be surprised if any of those are here in a few weeks and we only really need to replace two of them.
Also we may even have thrown Johnson a few quid as a signing on fee, as we saved on a transfer fee, to offset his wages and bring them down to a more manageable level within the squad.
We have clearly been careful with funds this summer, as we should be. We now have a squad with lots of upside potential, if we can get a manager who can develop and unlock it.

Re: Brennan Johnson
I heard something about him getting stick on social media and having to delete his accounts. If this was while he was at Palace then it was probably a very unsettling time for him.
Re: Brennan Johnson
O’Hara is a horrible little man. A friend of mine played with him at youth level, he used to bully less confident team mates around him. All the signs of an unhappy man projecting.

Re: Brennan Johnson
Most of the players we need off the books , e g Patterson we've been trying to offload him for the past 2 seasons, will happily just run down his contract and leave in a free. Like most over the past
Re: Brennan Johnson
Talksport will never be a serious sports broadcaster as long as they have helmets like O'Hara, Agbonlahor and Cundy appearing.
Re: Brennan Johnson
I like it when Cundy where's a mask of a player/manager and a clown outfit...
(I don't it's some of the most unfunny, childish shite ever committed to broadcast entertainment, can't believe there is an audience for it)
Re: Brennan Johnson
As with Deeney/Pickford earlier this summer, criticism can be insightful but this isn’t that.
Always enjoy seeing hack pundits get flamed.

Myko on 80k is absolutely criminal.TrevorSteven wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2026 9:29 pm According to most sources Pickford is on 150K, Tarkowski and Braithwaite 120K, KDH on 90K, Mykolenko, Garner and Keane on 80K. These are our top earners.
Brennan Johnson will be on somewhere between 100 and 110K. With 4,5 years left on his contract he would never accept to move with a wage cut.
If its correct that McNeil was on 25K as most sources says and we give Johnson a 4 year contract while McNeil only had 1 left the total extra outlay on salaries amount to approximately 20 M.
If he fails at Everton - he will be impossible to sell as no other clubs in and around or below us in the PL has players on 100K or over. Lets hope he makes it - its a huge risk...
