Decent. Helped to build a head of steam before the goal.

Offers something we don't currently have at the club. There's enough there to ask to borrow him again next season if he doesn't go anywhere else.

He will remain a great option from the bench, but defensively he will have to improve to get closer to the first team. He let his man go by him too easily to get a shot off on goal which lead to their second.

But going forwards he is a real livewire with skill and pace. If he can work on the tactical side of his game and get better at learning the defensive side, he will be a huge player for any team.

Get a decent LB in and he’ll be fine.

Moyes will always want to see the graft on the defensive side of the game, he won't get much of a sniff without that. I didn't see much of the second half so I don't know if he was partially at fault for the second as was mentioned, but if he wants to get a proper run under Moyes no matter who is at LB and how good they are, he'll need to consistently show that defensive part of his game (as we see from Ndiaye for example).

I don’t think he’s that sort of player though.
I think you have to accept that you’re gonna get a lot less from him defensively because he’s going to offer so much more going forward.

Do you not remember Mirallas?

Watching the goal another Brentford player made a run in front of him, which pulled Mykolenko away too and he skipped past Garner before getting his shot away too. George was back there though and he can work on the defensive side, I wouldnt read too much from that one momemt imto his overall work rate personally.

I'm not sure his involvement in the goal was a work rate issue, he was where he needed to be, he just got it wrong and reacted too slowly. It was the kind of mistake you see from a young attacking player who makes the wrong read and I'm sure he'll learn from it.

I'm not even sure he's that culpable, he was in the vicinity but the Brentford right back granted, but he then went passed about 2 or 3 others before having a terrible shot that got a really lucky deflection. Could he have done better, yes, but so could a lot of other players with much more experience, but his attacking contribution was really good. He offered so much more offensively than McNeil did in that cameo and helped change the flow of the game. I don't think it'll make a difference in his playing time, and he'll still be restricted to the of cameo if we're losing with 15/20 to go, but it was really nice to have that direct running threat

Yeah I agree with most of that, he was no more guilty than anyone else, and we were super unlucky to concede the way we did.

I think McNeil has done alright, he protects Jake well and gets close to Beto and our other wingers all tend to want to stay isolated. Boring and a bit safe but he's done way more than I thought he would. But we could definitely be seeing that change sooner to really give George time to get into it.

Looked like the occasion got to him. Night and day from his Brentford performance.
