I think we're adjusting still to 100 mil deals becoming more common place, at least for the teams with apparent infinite money. For us 25mil still feels a lot though given how we're doing our business. And when it's for a 30 year old it just doesn't feel like how we should be shopping given how we're trying to wheel and deal our way to a balanced squad still.

Not every deal has to be about being able to make a profit but for those that aren't, I think the price should ideally be a lot lower. I mean theoretically that'd make him our biggest transfer of the summer.

£25mil is a lot for a fullback at his age. It needs to be less than that.

It might well be. I've no problem with the price per se, I just don't like us spending it on a 30 year old. The position is one of the hardest physically to play in the PL as you have have a ton of stamina and ideally a decent amount of pace, and as we saw with Coleman once that starts to drop off it becomes a challenge to do the same things.

If we could sell a couple of the players who are seemingly surplus to requirements, I'd be happy if that gave us flexibility to spend even more to get in a RB. I just think it needs to be someone who can grow with the team or someone like Krepin Diatta who is available on a free if the money isn't there.

If we were one player away from looking like winning something, I'd be more inclined to go for the short term fix, I just don't think that's where we are though yet...but of course you never know maybe he hits us the winner in the league cup final

Also, I was just checking and he only cost them 6.6 mil just 2 years ago...that'd quite the return for them. Goes to show though if you can scout well enough, there are players out there for a much better cost that aren't "PL proven".

£25m to sort the position until it isnt hamstrung by a manager who'd rather his full backs were descendants of Andre the Giant feels like a win.

Its been such a source of frustration for the entire fan base for about 5 years that any positivity there on the eve of the new season will be massive. Dont sort it, and it just fuels the belief that we're a tinpot organisation with no ambition who never learn.

In general there is still a lot to be proven with some players, but maybe the positives we have seen from some of the newer signings from last season of late show that the transfer committee may not be as clueless as was once feared..?

Again, a lot to prove yet, it means nothing unless they can do it in the PL but some positive signs.

You can make a very valid argument than Munoz has been the best right back in the league over the last three seasons.

He’s been brilliant.

If we have the opportunity to add him, then it needs to be done.

Plenty of money has been invested in younger talent to afford us making the odd luxury purchase every now and then.
