Is the lack of options in the squad not down to poor recruitment which Moyes has a major say in

Im not suggesting they are inferior. Im just not having we need fluke performances from both teams for us to stand a chance. That doesn't bare out this season or even the seasons they've done well. How many away games didnt they win the 2 seasons they qualified for the champions league. We've no right to expect a result, we have no right to expect to win any individual game. Hes not right to tell us its beyond us under normal circumstances though.

The crux of the matter is he didn’t really need to say it. Everyone who follows football knows they have a better squad, knows they have better players in the main but also knows they are playing under par this season so far and have been struggling to get a win away from home. We just had a really bad day at the office and gifted them an easy win. Just say that. We made mistakes, didn’t play well, game over and move on. No need to bring this old negative defeatist mentality out in public every time. It’s tiresome now.

All that shit should be kept in house: throwing players under the bus, and this negative knife to a gunfight stuff.

I doubt he even believes it though, just saying what he needs to to keep chins up. He'll have seething at the performance but also telling them it's gone and to look towards the next game.

People always read waaaaay too much in to what's said in press conferences.

Another thing thats bugging me is why we don’t have a set piece coach most of the other teams have one we have poor corners myko taking long throws which aren’t long and o Brien taking them when he is our tallest player is it a control thing with Moyes that he wants the final say in everything

For me it's not that what he said is wrong, it's that it's pathetic to say it after we just got battered on a freezing cold night. And it's just not something I want my manager to be saying. It's so negative and shit to hear that.

Hard to disagree with him imo. With the side we fielded we would have to have a good day and them have a horrible day.

A quartet of Tim, Garner, “Tarks” and Keane, (won’t even bring the fullbacks into this!) if your team lost to a team fielding that mob you’d be absolutely livid. If we beat a team in the bottom 3 fielding those 4 mopes at the same time I’d be absolutely elated.

No top manager, nor the vast majority of just decent managers, would ever say that. Last thing I'll say on it.

Yeah, managers like Conte, Arteta, pep, Klopp never throw out any excuses when they have a bad defeat.

We win we love his comments, we lose we hate his comments.

Happens with every single manager.

Really don't have any issue with it. He's right. We're nowhere near their level in quality.

Their league position was a false one.

Just massively disappointed with the performance.

Stuff that gets said in press conferences isn't worth the time to even think about. That's what the reds do, hyper-analyse 6 word phrases that their manager utters all week in between games, like it's written on a tablet from God, when it's a throwaway comment. Just manage the team better in the Newcastle and Spurs games please.
