End of Moshiri - Friedkin, APPROVAL AGREED
Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Yeah, Coty had Thaksin "Frank" Shinawatra before the Sheik rocked up.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 9:51 am Yeah I've said the same before on here so completely agree, but the point is more Newcastle had Ashley and that was destructive to the club, they then got the Saudis who are obviously horrific but they will grow the club.
Pretty sure Man City were similar before they got their current owners. Villa likewise.
So really it's not that the prince is a wonderful human who made billions supporting human rights and deprived children... They'll be awful people, but they're not the plunder and strip the club of all it's assets types, they want to grow the club even if their intentions aren't honourable.
Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Because it has happened before does not mean it is a pattern, or make it more likely to happen again??
Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Just wanted to know, how do they benefit from buying us? Anyone who knows even a bit about us would know that we are probably one of the worst run clubs in the entirety of Europe. Again it's not like we are just a toy for a billionaire(like with Usmanov previously) and money will be given just for fun. How do 777 partners benefit from buying us(unless they have a long term plan to make us profitable)?
Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Run us at break even or a profit by selling players, new stadium comes along and we're perfect for a rich Arab country to take over. Similar to Newcastle but with a better stadium.wepull wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 8:15 pm Just wanted to know, how do they benefit from buying us? The key is to sell us once we have 3 years of break even or profit so new owners can spend reasonably big on improving the team.
It'll be a very rocky ride until then, and the only people who will benefit will be 777 because the club will be more appealing to rich nations than we are in our current state.
Re: 777 Partners Takeover
That's a lot of risk for them and eventually a better deal for us than what we have currently. And we still need to be a PL team to be lucrative to a rich buyer, so selling players can't be a great idea in their business planAjaxAndy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 8:26 pm Run us at break even or a profit by selling players, new stadium comes along and we're perfect for a rich Arab country to take over. Re: 777 Partners Takeover
No risk, no reward. If they can make hundreds of millions then the obvious upside is there to see.
I think you have to ask why they want to buy us, a team about to have a new stadium, lots of commercial opportunities around this, and a team for a reasonably ok fee given our size... It's to sell in a few years for double their investment.
If we go down the investment is worth less, but I'm guessing they believe they can keep us in the premier league by selling our most valuable players and replacing with frees, cheap deals and loans (or players they don't bother to pay for as seems to be their USP).
Keep us up for 2-3 years, balance the books, get in to the new stadium and sell for an almighty profit. Simple business as long as they keep us in the top flight.
Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Forget the Premier league ratifying them, we should be telling them to do one.
Of course we won't, too far in with them now.

Re: 777 Partners Takeover
Yeah is it not time for some fan action on this one?
Absolute charade the idea that this lot are anything but a death sentence.

Re: 777 Partners Takeover
I can understand 1 negative story with 1 business perhaps being misunderstood or misreported on. But there seems to be several issues with several businesses with 777. You have to suspect and assume that something isn’t right, either from a financial perspective or a management perspective. Or both.
The key question is how will these issues that 777 are having with other business impact the decision to ratify their takeover of us?

Re: 777 Partners Takeover
You can’t tell someone to do one if you owe them £150million quid that you don’t have.
