I was visiting my grandad in Australia about 1980-81 and remember him singing it all the time.

It's all just very cringe. Buzz words like "avocado on toast" and playing to the gallery. You can easily imagine a bunch of footballers in their 20s would hate playing under him both for footballing and personality reasons.
