Is that an opinion or fact? If factual, how are you privy to things we don't know. I think Moyes is testing his character to see if he responds positively

Sorry I kind of just assumed given he played numerous players out of position instead of him. No I dont know for a fact. Maybe it is an elaborate test.

There might be something to it. Look at Patterson and the head slap incident, allegedly. Not really played since. I'm giving Moyes til Christmas myself. If start badly he needs to go, but who knows.

I think they all have 45 minutes of it not going well for it to turn. If we are behind at half time the opening game of the season theyll be booed off. Think we are fed up, bored, starved of entertainment or even hope.

Big season ahead to prove a few wrong

It’s an odd way to test a footballer - not playing him almost all season to look at his character.

I would imagine tests would be along the lines of starting him to see he can keep the shirt, bringing him on near the end with specific game management instructions or playing him in important games. I think that would tell you more about a footballer.

Yeah, testing a player by denying playing time is fucking negligent.

I don’t think Moyes is testing him or anything like that.

I think Moyes, like all managers, just wants to win football matches.

This version of Moyes is unlikely to be thinking long term much, even though the romantic in me hopes he would, seeing as he loves us and gets us, but he knows he’s not here for the future, he’s just here for now, and this along with his innate pragmatism has made him even more risk averse than he even used to be, which is a shame for the youngsters we have who would likely benefit from a hefty dose of patience and lots of minutes to make mistakes and hone their craft.

I think Moyes had a plan for his first half and full season…first half season…survival…first full season…consolidate league position….asses the expectation of the owners…and their true commitment…..
This being his second “full” season I would now expect him to plan for progression….he knows his players and squad….he knows its strengths and weaknesses…he also knows the expectation levels have risen and if he doesn’t meet the challenge…he knows he’s gone…
In summary I expect an overall improvement in performances and results this season….

How can you? His squad is imploding beneath his feet. He has a much weaker squad than last year. The worst thing Everton can do now is to sack Moyes. At least he knows how to survive with a bad squad.
