It looked like he was doing a decent job at QPR, especially when you see where they ended up after he left. Rangers was strange, first time round under Gerrard it was widely agreed that Beale was the brains behind it and it seemed the same at Villa until he left there. Time will tell and I don't know if Sunderland is the best place for anyone to try and rebuild their career but it may be that he someone who's a great coach and assistant but it doesn't transfer into management.
