Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
Hes probably not particularly wealthy. Hes 26 started late and played in the lower leagues. Hes only on a million a year now net (i know thats a lot of money) but hes not got that many years left and hasnt got anything generational. Who can blame him for being tempted by 14 his current wages
Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
I love him but it's the best time for us to sell him, money wise. Get about 80mill for him, invest it in other important positions and that's how teams like ours can improve. No point holding on to one superstar for ever when we have minimum positions to fill in for with very little money.

Everyone seems to be on board now.
Which is why I’m convinced it’ll fall through.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
People can think what they want but I personally feel it's a waste of a good player and a bit pathetic from the player side. All power to him getting a huge payday.
But he could easily get a contract paying him 120k a week with us (or a bigger club). More than enough to set him and his family up for life.
If he goes then so be it, absolute joy to watch - very few top level footballers who play like him nowadays. Production be damned, he does fun stuff with a football and at this point I dont expect to ever see Everton win anything so fun stuff is a consolation.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
Think if youre being even handed would he not also then be a bit pathetic wasting his career at midtable everton for 3m when he can get 14 in Saudi?? Is pickford a bit pathetic wasting his career at a club who wont even field a right back when he could get double and win things elsewhereCantoffee wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2026 9:57 pm People can think what they want but I personally feel it's a waste of a good player and a bit pathetic from the player side. The players make these decisions for all sorts of reasons. Money, loyalty, ambition. I think the only 1s id really judge are the absolute elite who go to saudi and that doesnt seem to happen. Someone making 10x what they get in England to play midtable football or 5x what theyd get to sit on chelseas bench seems a reasonable choice

I’m not…..although Everton have done it over the years…I don’t believe selling your best players is the way to improve….look at where we stand now by doing this……

Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
Could he really get a bigger club than us?
I don't see anybody outside of Saudi being willing to pay what we'd want for him so he's stuck here IMO and I can't blame him for going to Saudi over a few more seasons of mid table and terrible football - at least in Saudi he'll make bank and maybe win a trophy.
To be clear, he's definitely good enough for a bigger club I just don't think he's good enough to justify the price for them for his age profile.
Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
The only club I've seen linked are Man Utd, who might be dumb enough.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2026 7:12 am Could he really get a bigger club than us?

If Barcola really does end up leaving them, would PSG show an interest? Doubtful - they've bought smarter in recent years.

Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
He'd actually be a really smart addition for PSG as he presses incredibly well and they like to press very high up - I just don't think he's worth £75m to anybody else
Re: Iliman Ndiaye (Saudi Interest)
Those positions aren’t actually too far away. I expect a deal to be done based on that. £75m looks achievable.
It buys a player at his peak, who is of prime fitness, ambitious and a good character. What it doesn’t buy is a lot of goals or assists. Illi just doesn’t do that very well. But he is one of the best ball carriers in the league if not Europe and creates space for others to do the damage.
