Even beyond all that you think well let's see him for a year in Holland or Germany but hes bloody homesick too.

There should have been numerous reasons we didnt make this signing. We ignored them all.

Im not saying hes shite and will never amount to anything. I just dont really think we have matches where hes what we need to change them, hes probably not going to want to go abroad on loan.

Maybe things change if we get some fullbacks in because he is a bit grealish but even then hes still going to struggle for opportunities because of whos infront of him

My endless complaints arent really about him. Its about all the people who ignored the red flags to sign him

Beyond anything else 40m for someone who went from Southampton to cheslea and had to leave cos he was homesick. The risks were just too numerous
Yeah spot on, agree with all that.

Will always back the club taking risks like this.

Still a lot of time for it to pay off.

I think with hindsight the vast majority of the last 2 windows signings would have been passed on
*£32m not £40m. If we end up paying £40m he'll have met enough markers for the transfer to probably have been worth that if not more.

Just have to take the long term view here, as with any 19 / 20 year old we sign. It was a lot of money but potentially in a couple of years we may well be thinking it was a good investment.

Exciting teenage wingers is what its all about. Its exactly what we should be doing. It hasn't materialised yet but still a high probability that he will be a star.

I dont think anyone is suggesting we shouldn't sign exciting teenage players..... just that maybe we got the wrong 1 for a multitude of reasons

Yeah it hasn't paid off yet, but in 12 months time we might have a different opinion.

No. I'd rather give him time to become a fantastic player for us.

Prefer he's loaned out, but getting no minutes is just as wasteful as selling at a loss.
