And the most important part is Dom last scored double figures for us four years ago , whilst Delap currently has 12 goals for a team that wasn’t even competitive in the premier league.
You can’t guarantee Dom can get on the pitch, and when he does you cant guarantee he’s scoring goals.
Can't guarantee that with delap either, but he does cost all of your summer budget.
Flavour of the month who's outscored his xg. A tale as old as time.
I'd be super on board if we get him, but I'm not convinced he's better than Dom.
Just flagging again - can he actually play? Only seen him play wrecking ball stuff. If Beto was in that Ipswich team that sit back for 90% of the game then have breaks where he's allowed to just run in straight lines and hit the ball he'd bag as well.

The biggest issue with dcl isn't his ability, it's that he can't stay fit.

Reckon they'd take a straight swap?

Rather that than a lad who’s always injured who consistently underperforms his XG.
He’s a good player, for £30m I think he’s great value.
I personally don’t want us going abroad for a striker to have a year of him learning how to play in the premier league then not being up to it.

1, 4, 6, 13, 16, 5, 1, 7, 3
They're the goals scored in the league from Dom each season since he's been here. 16 goals in his last 4 seasons.
Chris Wood and Yoane Wissa have 18 and 16 goals just this season. Mateta has 14. Strand-Larsen has 13. Delap has 12.
16 goals in 4 seasons is just nowhere near enough regardless of the reasons behind it and the other strengths that he does have. Why give him another 2/3 years for the sake of likely about 10 goals at most?
It probably comes down to keeping one of DCL or Beto and signing a first choice though... So who would you want to keep out of those two?
Bare in mind DCL leaves for free and Beto goes for circa £10m - £15m which we can then re-invest in the new striker.

Its just American drivvle.
Basically its the player who when you think of Everton you think of them.
Like Messi at Barca
Kane was at Spurs
Saka is at Arsenal etc

Good job we have all the leverage then
Exactly, hopefully the new leadership will be more likely to pay him based on what he's now capable of contributing to the team.
We need to be much more ruthless.

One of either him or Beto can go and the other will be back up to whatever starting ST we sign, then we can send Chermiti on loan.
We can get money for Beto, so makes sense to resign DCL and sell Beto

1-0 down with 10 minutes to go. Who do you want coming off the bench, Beto or DCL?

DCL, Beto is even worse off the bench than he is starting.

Hard disagree with you there, but then you don't think Beto is a footballer. Bring DCL on 100 times and I'd be surprised if you didn't lose at least 95.
Beto is more likely to score off the bench than Dom.
