The football food chain always wins in the end.
Interesting to see how they react. On 28 points with only 2 points from their last 6 games. Never great when your manager is gone in the summer and your big players heads are turned.

Manchester City have agreed a deal in principle to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi this month for £20m.

Bargain

Petty, maybe even a tad bitter but, more evidence for the deluded in red of the new world order.

I kinda wonder if these January transfers are Pep's equivalent of Van Persie to Man United for Ferguson's final title.

Seems like they're trying to find those last pieces of the puzzle to get past their slightly stuttering form.

Great signings by City and should hot the title race up... but still zero consequences for cheating and corruption. The Premier League is so bent it's unreal

Should be some eyeballs on some of their transfer fees.

They're just not market rate. Obviously they've overpaid on a few too, but:

Guehi, (almost) paid €23m, market value €55m.

Donnaruma, paid €30m, market value €45m

Haaland, paid €60m, market value €200m
(He was valued at over €100m at Dortmund two full years before Man City signed him for just €60m)

Cherki, paid €36.5m, market value €50m

Reijnders, paid €54.9m, market value €70m.

Are you suggesting they are cheating on the fees? Don't think they look out of line with context

Don't see much wrong with them. Guehi had 6 months left on his deal and they knew he wasn't signing, Donnarumma had less than a year left and had been dropped as first choice and he'd told them he was leaving, Haaland's was his release clause. The other two look fine, especially as one was a 21 year old with a 1 on 10 record in the French league.

All that means is that websites publishing "market values" for players are spouting utter bollocks.

There is no such thing as a player's market value.

I don’t get what the conspiracy is here?

They’re all normal fees for the transfers they’ve made.

They getting players on low contract length as well so what's the issue?

Loads more problems than a conspiracy about the fee they pay.

I think he probably meant something along the lines of what Chelsea got caught doing where the fee was paid to the club and then some extra payments were made off the books to make the deal more beneficial and more true to market value... Or at least I think that's what Chelsea got caught doing.

I dont think any of them fees look remotely off when you look at the contract situations too

Oscar Bobb seemingly being offered around, Fulham apparently linked at 35mil.

Haven't seen much of him of late, but he's always seemed decent when he's had a chance.
