Well yeah, although the rumours around at the time were £10m - £15m loan fee which is why I said that and not £5m.

But yes it could be we're literally just paying £12m of his wages which would be a really good deal, or we could be paying the same again in loan fees, or somewhere in the middle.

It's all just speculation at the end of the day as neither club announced the details of the deal so we're all in the dark.

Jack Grealish playing for Everton a couple years after facing relegation season after season, deepest darkest shite we endured. And you are all hammering on about 10 million quid, cost ratio and sell on fees...how boring.

Just enjoy football lads!!
I kind of get it after the incompetence of Moshiri but I’m inclined to let the new owners crack on as they seem to know what they’re doing. Time will tell

€90m in a hole with PSR at Roma that needs to be bridged by the summer by all accounts so I wouldn't completely trust them just yet tbh.

I do think they're doing a good job so far though tbh, especially given where we were when they took over compared to now, both on and off the field.

The losses have been accumulating over the past 14 years, Roma wasn’t fixed in a day !

Ownership Investment: The Friedkin Group, owners since 2020, have reduced deficits from €219 million in 2021-22, but high-value sales are still needed.
Squad Sales: To fix the balance sheet, Roma is expected to sell high-value players.

PSR is only over the past 3 years though so not sure what that's got to do with anything. They must still be €90m over for 2022 - 2025, which means they've been spending more than they've been bringing in.

Might be a tricky situation to turn around which is fair enough, but also feels like they've had enough time to get it sorted.

Like I said though, they seem to be doing a good job so far here which is encouraging.

Just don’t think it’s a big deal.

I haven't said it's a big deal, just that it's early on their reign here and the jury is probably still out due to the mix results they've had there and good so far here.

I think we should treat any new owners with a pinch of caution until they've proven their long term strategy works, but I also fully acknowledge that so far they've done well since taking over here.

I really doubt we’d pay over the odds for him, my only mild concern for Grealish is that he is an older player and we shouldn’t be overly deferential to him.

It’s a nice situation where he is in his career and where we are as a club overlap. Doesn’t mean he has to start every game and play all minutes though, there might be games where he may not be the right option and we may need more pace and directness. Moyes sometimes leans on his favourites a smidge too much. Maybe the nature of his injury which seems cumulative, means for his own benefit too he’s the one who should get subbed over Ndiaye for instance a bit more often.

That’s small potatoes though.
