Complete contradiction when it comes to the defence.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 5:39 pm "We just felt other players had stronger seasons particularly in the last six months or so."

Re: England National Team
Says more about his ability as a manager if he can't see Branthwaite's quality rather than anything else.
Re: England National Team
And Quansah is shit. He wouldn't be anywhere near the squad if he played for the likes of Wolves or Bournemouth

Re: England National Team
More from Southgate on Jarrod Branthwaite who misses out on the final squad: "I think it's a bit early for Jarrod, he has had a fantastic season and it was good to get him involved and of course in an ideal world you would want a left footer but picking him ahead of the others, for him I don't think that would have been the right call at this stage.
Did he even get his name wrong
Had he actually said the Quensah fella is on stand by or just available for the Iceland game , it's laughable if he is

Re: England National Team
Too early for Branthwaite but not Wharton? Alright mate.
Ah well, not that bothered about England really and if they go out in flames early on because of Southgate picking the likes of Lewis Dunk then so be it. I look forward to his dismal return to club football afterwards.

Re: England National Team
On reflection
The worst defence we’ve taken to a tournament in over 30 years
We’ll need to outscore everyone we play, which goes completely against his safety first philosophy
Can win it with being rock solid, see Greece, Italy, can’t win it being porous as fuck
No chance we make the semi finals

Re: England National Team
So disappointing because our attack is incredible.
Sack him after the Euros and get a decent manager who can utilise the talent

Re: England National Team
I don't think Quansah is shit, but I do think Branthwaite is comfortably better. Gomez is a utility player who can play any of the back 4 positions, so I get the logic of that.
Guehi's been out for months since early February, and only just come back so I think that's a bad pick, and Dunk is a little past his best and Brighton have been conceding goals for fun this season.

In the alternative non-Euro England team…
Pope
White Maguire Branthwaite Chilwell
Phillips
Maddison Grealish
Sancho Solanke Rashford

Re: England National Team
Guessing this is pretty much the starting lineup for the Euros except for Pickford and Bellingham in for Ramsdale and Palmer
