So frustrating this, but at 45m walk away imo, recruitment teams plan c or d should still be a good player.
Brighton Brentford - are they making that move? No chance.

Probably need to step away unless he's our big signing, he's got shit loads of potential but you don't spend 45 mil on potential

£35m and £10m of bonuses that reflect a genuinely good output? Maybe.

Pay the money
That’s what the big teams do
Wasn't that the shout of the siggurdsson thread too.

Slightly different age, wage (hopefully) and ceiling, though.

Sounds like we’re very close to meeting Southamptons valuation. Could be just a case of tweaking the terms or timings of instalments or something like that. Could be sell on fee etc. If you bid for a car or a house you don’t necessarily go to your upper limit on second bid, I’d expect our final take it or leave it to be accepted.

We’d have to be sure he’s going to at least maintain most of that value if we go to £45m. Maybe 35 guaranteed and then up to the in add ons

Put another bid in apparently.
Why didn’t we do this earlier in the summer if we’re so convinced by him?
Feel like we are panicking now.

Just pay the money suggests we aren't arsed about value

They want closer to 40m up top plus add-ons , move on unfortunately not our time. Is he ready for the prem , no for me . He's in his final year of his contract too. We can't really play hard ball here as he'll probably go elsewhere either way but looks way over the odds.

Value is largely an arbitrary concept, though, dude, but I get what you’re saying, we don’t want our pants pulled down again, but to be specific, (potentially) overpaying for Dibbling would be far less dumb than overpaying for Gylfi effing Siggurdsson.

Maybe seen as we have told every one in the world how much we need players, then clubs will say ok but pay us more if you need them that bad.
