Moyes had very clearly given him instructions to not cross the half way line. He would carry the ball to it and then stop dead. You could tell he desperately wanted to attack!

Andy Hinchliffe? Although he's a tit on commentary so maybe that already counts against him.

Hmmm. Not sure on Hinchcliffe. He had a more than decent left foot on him for corners and good delivery from free kicks that makes me think he had something better than decent - but as I can’t really remember the rest of his overall play, hard to call.

Just before my time but every goal we scored form that era seemed to come from an Andy Hinchcliffe cross.

Hinchcliffe was a bang average defender, but he had an amazing corner on him that maybe him incredibly effective for us.

For sure… for now.

He shows glimpses of being able to do things with the ball. He doesn’t lack the technique, I think it’s mostly a matter of intent.

I imagine he’d be quite good if he played with more confidence and aggression with the ball at his feet. Not sure it’ll ever happen like.
