Because that makes too much sense.

Re: Tickets
Eh?
So paying 60 quid isn't going to guarantee a ticket, we go to a ballot and cant even pick seats hahahahhahahahha

Re: Tickets
I mean £60 was never going to guarantee a ticket just as the amount it was last season didn't.
The ballot is a fairer system. Not good for me really as I would usually like my chances with the old system but 10am on a Tuesday first come first serve isn't exactly a fair way to go about things.
Not picking seats isn't great. You do get to choose two stands though and are asked if you want to be considered if the only seats are elsewhere. Like I say, it's not great, but it's not like you get no choice whatsoever.

Re: Tickets
Think most teams have a ballot don’t they?
Not being able to pick your seats is a weird one but other than that’s it’s a normal process.

Re: Tickets
But there are now two tiers, last seasons cos is there still, but the 60 pound tier is there to make out you're pretty much assured tickets, with only a small increase in ST and more general sale.
But now a ballot.
Im confused how it works tbh and the point of it?
I hate i cant choose seats. I get anxious when im trapped in the middle and always try to sit close to the aisle seats so I feel shit about that.

Re: Tickets
As has been mentioned, why am I paying £60 for a membership if it doesn't guarantee I'll get a ticket? Not arsed about match higlights etc. If the club had told us this prior 1000's purchaing a £60 memebership, how many would've done so ragardless??If the ballot is completey random, does that mean I might apply every home game to be in the draw, but never actually be one of the lucky mwmbers pulled out of the hat?
Not sure a ballot makes things any fairer to be honest, all a bit sneaky and misleading to me.

Re: Tickets
Did you think it would ? I suspect there will be far more members than there will be available tickets.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 1:06 pm Eh?

Re: Tickets
Membership never has guaranteed a seat, how can it, there's probably more members than seats available in the ground and that's before you add in season tickets and away fans.
Re: Tickets
I don't think the set up's too bad, it's the lure of the Premier League, few clubs aren't selling out or very close to it every week. In reality you've hardly been able to choose a seat at Goodison for the last few years and had to just take what was available, at least now you won't have a big fuck off pillar in front of you or a view like a letterbox.

Did they ever say it guaranteed a ticket?
Wasn’t it billed as priority?
Re: Tickets
There was never a guarantee and I think the ballot is necessary if this back of a fag packet calculation is anywhere near correct,
So: 53k capacity
Minus 30k current season tickets
Minus 4k new season tickets
Minus 8.5k corporate tickets
Minus 3.5k away fans
Leaves about 7.5k tickets for general sale.
Am sure there will be more than 7.5k members, there are more than that on the ST waiting list for which membership is required.
Re: Tickets
The ballot is a lot fairer, but as has been said before it should be a ballot to determine who gets first dibs, then they get a window to go and select their seats. If they don't then it goes on to the next level of priority people.
Same as @Audrey Horne I'd rather sit further back or in a different stand if I could get something on the end of a row rather than squashed in the middle.

Re: Tickets
After missing out on the Roma game by seconds - the were two tickets left as I went online but I was too slow due to being at work and getting distracted - I decided to go for the cheapest premium ticket for the Brighton game. It's expensive but I didn't want to miss out and, after a very hectic few months at work, I needed to treat myself to something and it's cheaper than a diving holiday! I was beginning to second guess myself and thinking I should have waited but after hearing about the ballot system, which I have no problems with per se, I'm glad I did it. With rail fares added in it's an expensive day out but I know that when I'm sitting there on the day I won't care about that. Not sure if I'll ever do it again but, just looking ahead at other games out of curiosity, it seems like there's not a fixed price and it will vary from game to game.

Re: Tickets
Keeping back some premium tickets for sale each match is something where the club appear to learnt from the mistakes of others, where the likes of Citeh and Spurs were selling them all for the season but ending up with a load of no-shows and empty seats in prime spots on the TV coverage. I've got a milestone birthday coming up in the next couple of years, and I'd love to treat myself to something like that.
