Yeah, but ffp and history tells us we can only do that if we can sell our not-best players for a premium
Don’t think player sales will be as important this coming season as we’ll have new shirt sponsorship (iirc betting companies can no longer sponsor clubs), stadium naming rights, corporate boxes, low interest loan repayments, higher ticket prices etc.
I’m certain Jarrad will still be our player next season, unless a ridiculous offer comes in, and I very much doubt it will.

I'd like to keep Branthwaite, obviously, but we cant rely on a one-off increase of revenue (one off in that it increases to a new level once, not that it comes back down after a spike).
Our revenue may go up by £30m? We spend £150m and buy 5 players. 5-year deals mean they get amortised to £30m a year.
So for the next 5 years we are in the same position where we cant buy anybody without sales as we are declaring sales that match the increased revenue.
We cant fuck up the first season. We just cant repeat the pattern and hope all will be well. We need one big sale a year (at least) until the FFP rules eventually change.

Or we just get creative
Sell Goodison to another business entity
Play preseason tournaments with massive appearance fees
Buy and sell unheard of youth players at £20m a pop

Brainthwaite can be the asset we sell the following season as hopefully we’ve found the next one in O Brien or someone else, but don’t forget the increase in gate receipts, hopefully higher league placing, possibly European involvement, it is about getting this next phase right, and I wouldn’t doubt Moyes to get it right.
I read an article that Branthwaite is open to a move to Chelsea, that's understandable. He wants to play in the Champions league. But I'm at an age that I think if a player wants to use Everton as a stepping stone to further their career we should take a good price and let him go. We'll be in the same situation every transfer window with him so just let him go. The grass always looks greener for many players and often isn't.

Within reason. But we've got too much to do this season without replacing him.
Contract is long enough that we won't risk losing money on him by selling next summer (which should be the plan)

Never mind taking a good price, we should be following the shite's example and rinsing the fuck out of the deal. What price do you reckon the shite would want for him if they were the selling club. I mean, they wanted nearly £10m for TAA to fuck off 1 month early ffs!
We need to be asking silly.money for players that we'd ideally like to keep.
