Jarrad Branthwaite
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Not that I believe it but according to the shit stirrers at Sky he’s reconsidering his future with Everton because he didn’t get picked for England.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Even if this is the reason he wants to leave he was highly likely too anyway regardless.
We still should and still will get a massive fee for him, just hope he goes abroad.
Not having this is why he wants to go though.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Mentioned in an Everton video the other day about wanting to play with Everton at the new stadium like. People forget he's only 22.
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Yeah, the one good thing about him not being a standout this season means there might not be as much interest than if he had. He's tied into a deal, we won't be desperate to sell and really could do without losing anyone else so we're in a strong position to keep him.
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
I’m not having it’s the reason either - not least for the fact it’s a bollocks argument. If he’s playing well enough for Everton, he’ll get picked for England.
Just the Sky rumour mongers working overtime. Sure I heard the comms last night saying it’s the 1st time since the year dot that there hasn’t been a Liverpool City or United player in the starting line up (counting Rashford as playing for Villa)

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Sure, but let's be real the bar to a call up is noticeably lower when playing for some clubs. It just is.NickNack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 5:20 pm I’m not having it’s the reason either - not least for the fact it’s a bollocks argument. Sometimes when I go full tin foil hat, I think that sometimes some players who might be on the cusp of a move don't because maybe a bigger clubs asks on the down low to hold off a beat as they know it'd push the price up. Maybe as a quid pro quo for other players being available. Zero proof of that of course, just my own conspiracy theory as sometimes it just becomes a bit silly when certain players don't get a look in.
That said in this case, Branthwaite has had a bit more of an up and down season so I would get it if it weren't for Quansah who has started 2 games this season. Then it just becomes a bit silly again. There is nooooo way if the situation was reversed and Quansah played for us he'd get an England cap on the back of that record. So it's not an entirely bollocks argument.

According to the Bobble there was no truth in it. Currently working on giving him a deal with improved terms.NickNack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 1:16 pm Not that I believe it but according to the shit stirrers at Sky he’s reconsidering his future with Everton because he didn’t get picked for England.

It's the kind of story you expected Kenwright to plant via his mates when they want the fans to turn on someone they wanted to sell.NickNack wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 1:16 pm Not that I believe it but according to the shit stirrers at Sky he’s reconsidering his future with Everton because he didn’t get picked for England.

Whilst he seemed genuine in the kids media day thing when it comes down to it he's a professional footballer and he knows that if an offer comes in that's appealing to both Everton and himself he'll be gone. He's not been disingenuous, he's answered the question based on the current known circumstances.

Unless it's Real Madrid coming in with £90 million plus, he'd be wasting his time going anywhere else.

“It feels like the days of scratching around the bargain bin for the likes of Neal Maupay are over for the club”
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
So was John Stones when he left for City tbf. That was gutting I loved Stones. Just have to cross our fingers this summer. If we can get him in the new stadium, he gets his caps and we make him captain he might hang about
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
All about building beyond him for me.
He's quality but quality players exist, got to just make sure we replace ell and build on it.

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Would be the ultimate statement of intent though being in a position to keep hold of our best players, whilst slowly adding more quality to the squad.
Re: Jarrad Branthwaite
Yeah, but ffp and history tells us we can only do that if we can sell our not-best players for a premium
