Re: Liverpool being bellends
Genuinely, I don't feel that's the worst news.
VVD hasn't looked the same this season. Beto mugging him off twice should be alarm bells for them I'd have thought. Also, Salah after a tremendous first half of the season has felt like he's showing his age a bit the latter half of the season.
They're good/great players obviously but these aren't 24 year old players anymore setting up a dynasty, they're somewhat depreciating assets.
They'll probably sell them next summer for a stupid amount of money after a middling season so I'm not doing victory laps either.

Salah is a blow, he'll be back on the juice cycle at the start of next season.

Re: Liverpool being bellends
i reckon that salahs form will plateau out now and become stale
he has got his money and the hunger and desire will disappear like a former formula 1 world champion earning tons of money but just happy to be there and not winning anymore
and
like the previous posts have alluded to van dyke is very ordinary average player now and has never recovered fully from the pickford injury
yes the shite would miss him if not playing but his best days are behind him - esp when BETO can get the better of him

Them 76
Arsenal 63
6 matches left each
Sun 20th April 14:00 Ipswich v Arsenal
Sun 20th April 16:30 Leicester v Liverpool
Wed 23rd April 20:00 Arsenal v Crystal Palace
Sun 27th April 16:30 Liverpool v Spurs
So they'll probably beat Spurs to win it. Although given how anti-climatic it's all been then Arsenal failing to beat Ipswich and Palace and it being over without them even playing wouldn't be the biggest surprise.
They'll be hating Arsenal being in the CL SFs.

Re: Liverpool being bellends
Looking at Saka last night and the difference he makes they would have been so much closer had he not got injured.
As would city if Rodri hadn't have gotten injured. But I guess that just happens.
Arsenal should have strengthened in Jan really so it's their own fault.
They've capitalised on some outrageous fortune this season going their way. Rather they won it in this fashion at the end of the day rather than having an "aguero moment"

Re: Liverpool being bellends
There's a bit of me thinking these are two years on inflated money to ensure they stay next season and then go to Saudi for a bundle next summer instead of for nothing. For VVD I think this is highly likely. He certainly isn't the player he (thought he) was any more.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.
Re: Liverpool being bellends
Odd time to announce it as well on a Thursday morning. Nothing to do with Arsenal winning last night I'm sure.

Re: Liverpool being bellends
All this talk of him being the best ever PL defender is nauseating too. On what fucking basis?
There are no strikers any more! Okay, sure, he's very good and has made a massive difference to them. But put him up against Shearer, Henry, Ferdinand, Cole/Yorke, Rooney, Hasselbaink, Lampard, Drogba, Aguero, Anelka, van Persie, Defoe - even Duncan - week in week out and there's no way we'd be having this conversation.
Their closest rival in the league literally don't have a striker. And the talisman for the team that's been in 3rd most of the season is Chris Wood!

Heard a kopite on the news saying she was delighted as he's irreplaceable.
