Had some talks with Tuchel

Everyone up in arms that we should be getting Pep, why are we talking to this guy :Hair:

Sigh

I saw a few clickbait headlines about this but didn't click on any... I'd rather we kept Carsley or got Potter personally. Tuchel isn't the right man at all and I really hope we aren't genuinely considering him.

Yeah, not convinced Tuchel would be a great fit.

Said it over the summer but England would have won the tournament with Tuchel in charge.

The talent is there, just need somebody to install the arrogance and belief. Tuchel is perfect for that.

That escalated quickly. Explains Carsley's comments.

I'm a bit sceptical myself, don't think his recent run has been great. Bayern was a bit of a mess and he seems to flame out wherever he goes.

Good luck to him though.

Is he even all that good? Feels like we've decided that to win something we should employ someone who's failed in his last two big jobs? 🤷

I need someone far more knowledgeable about him to fill me with some confidence here!

Disappointed he's taken the England job, would have loved him to be leading us out at BMD.

Is weird he doesn't start until January? Why have Carsley still leading the team out for two more games?

Maybe a money thing, his Bayern contract would've run out in mid-2025.

He’s won as many Champions Leagues as Pep

Just read an article on him and apparently he's very good at making decisive decisions in big matches which if true would be a wonderful thing to finally have.

I think he's an above average league manager and isn't one of the elites in spite of his reputation in football. Tournament record is good though and you know he's going to be telling the players exactly what they need to hear.

Southgate had them like a bunch of 16 year olds going to play a random tournament in Europe. They're ready to win, they've got the quality to win and I think Tuchel fills the missing gaps in that regard.

Football probably won't be much better and don't expect England to be battering teams regularly but they won't lack confidence and shy away from pressure like they have done in recent tournaments.

Should have kept Carsley.

He knows a lot of the players from his time in the system and the under 21 to the senior gig is something that works time and time again in international football.

I don’t see tuchel having the temperament for this type of job.

Also, it needs to be studied how a country like ours has not produced one top level manager for near on 30 years.

The last one was Bobby Robson, before him it was probably Howard Kendall.

Spain, France, Portugal, Holland, Germany churn them out on the regular. Yet we can’t.

There still hasn’t been an English manager to win the premier league. The closest was Kevin Keegan with Newcastle.

Why is this?
