Sage’s side concluded their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Freiburg in South-West Germany, with an additional 30-minute training game following the 90 minutes.
With players returning at different stages following the World Cup, alongside a number of injuries, Sage highlighted the importance of having more time together as the squad continues to settle.
“For the moment, I think we are not ready to play because we need more sessions,” he said. “With the starting XI, we have only two or three players who have been here with us from the beginning without injury.

Referee is Paul Tierney.
And didn't Norgaard rule himself out yesterday?

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Let me guess
Pickford
JOB Tarkowski Keane Mykolenko
A midfield jumble of Rohl, Armstrong, KDH, Ndiaye and Alcaraz.
With Barry playing for 60mins before Beto comes on.
Moyes doesn’t like giving new players their starting debuts when they first sign for Everton so Johnson and Hackney will have to wait to be subbed on, probably one of them to replace Alcaraz at half time and George will probably come on in the 85th minute.

Fitness permitting it'll be
Pickford
Rohl Tarks Branthwaite Myko
Hackney
Armstrong KDH
Ndiaye George
Barry
Only question in that is whether it'll be George or Dibling starting, but I think George will just edge it.

Re: Everton v Crystal Palace
Merlin won’t be cm. He might actually be RM.
Hackney and Armstrong cms but he’ll be looking to drop hackney when garners back and looking to drop Armstrong when norgaards fit.
Rohl will be fit into the side in RB, RM, 10, DM, CM (5 mins end of game) in order to get another athletic big boy in there. But he won’t nail down a position other than maybe RB.
