They've been awful and deserve to go down but I do think it's another thing that highlights how terrible PSR is. They've had it hanging over them for a few years and finally get the points deducted which results in them being relegated to league one.

There's nothing sustainable about punishing clubs to the extent they can't refresh their squad and it directly impacts them dropping down the leagues.

I'm not advocating this as the solution but if you had basically let Leicester spend what they wanted in these years without any punishment, I guarantee you they'd be in a healthier position as a club financially and in terms of its future than they are right now after suffering under the PSR rules.
Totally agree with the point here, however worth noting that even without the points deduction they'd still be in the relegation zone right now. Admittedly with a chance of escaping it over the last 2 games, but on their current form they'd have been unlikely to manage it, they've been in freefall the 2nd half of the season.

Really though, it’s all been worth it for what they won.

They’ll get back to being a premier league/championship yo-yoyo team in a few years, and will always have those incredible memories from ten years ago, and winning the fa cup.

Think theres a reasonable chance we dont see them in the premier league in the next 10 years plus. They are fucked financially

They’ll be back to their normal level of premier league/championship yoyo team within a few years.

Most of the teams they’ll be coming up against will be financially fucked also.

The football food chain always wins out and they’ll be back where they belong imo.

Think there's more chance of them doing a Leeds or Coventry and spending the next 10 years in financial turmoil and circling around the lower end of League One, they might not have even hit rock bottom yet and could take another relegation. They'll do well to avoid administration and judging by the attendance last night the fans have had enough as well.

Meanwhile Jamie Vardy is banging them in in Cremona.

(Okay, he isn't exactly doing that but they're sitting just outside the relegation zone.)

Some might argue that this is the universe correcting.

They’re fucked

They’ve already used parachute payment money and future transfer installments to get loans, they’ve got nothing

With that win today, they would have stayed up had they not been deducted the 6 points.

Not that simple. West Brom might have put more effort in their desd rubber game against Sheff Wed.

Simple enough for Leicester to try and sue someone though!

Probably true but I still find it funny though.

Regardless of what you think of Leicester, does anybody else find it a bit depressing that a team that achieved one of the most unlikely, fairytale triumphs - anywhere - in football history in winning the premier league only 10 years ago (plus an FA cup 5 years ago) has fallen into such disrepair?

I mean I'm sure a lot will go "nah, it's funny", but football's all about dreaming and yet so often when anybody outside it threatens to break up the dominance of the top six, by winning an unexpected trophy, there seems to be an immediate penalty in the seasons to follow - talent plucked, remaining squad overstretched by extra European commitments etc. - always leading to struggle and relegation battles.

The 'Empire' always strikes back, and while the first step of success, winning a trophy, seems hard enough, the second step of using it as a platform to win more and become one of the big boys actually seems impossible.
