I've never been one of Moyes biggest fans or defenders but this is a bit of a myth. Moyes is cautious, always has been, always will be but with the right players he showed when he was here the first time that we can play some decent football. He just goes into too many games with a "don't lose" attitude but people go on like he's Dyche or Allardyce at times when he isn't.
Allardyce played some quality football at Bolton, when he had players like Okocha, Speed, Campo, Hierro etc, but similar to Moyes, his default position is don't lose, and he will always revert back to that when push comes to shove. Some of the results and play under Dyche were amazing, the Brighton and Forest away as an example.
It's obviously easier to play better football with better players, but certain managers have their identify. The comparison with those managers is accurate imo as it's their default style and their comfort blanket when they get a bit anxious, they all lack the bravery to take teams on
If Moyes wants his teams to play better football why is he so rigid in formation and personal he has guys to play better but won’t pick them because he thinks they don’t work hard enough defensively I hope he doesn’t get sacked here as it would tarnish what he has achieved with us but unless we get 3-4 quality players in and he starts using the players he has better I think his days are numbered

Nobody wants to tarnish his achievements with us. Although, remind me again, what were they? All I really remember is him being the longest servicing manager during the most baron period of our existence, colluding behind our backs to facilitate a move away and introducing us to 'plucky old Everton'

Ok, so you can also deduce that Howe creates a more rounded squad with potentially better discipline to counter any outside influences
sorry mate you lost me on that....how do you counter/plan for injuries and red cards/suspensions....especially if players are on international duty....or like when Mcneil had problems with his wife being ill...not being pedantic just saying...

He's a fine margins manager, doesn't want to take risks and would rather be solid and stable than open the floodgates to big losses in the hope of big gains.
Tbf as frustrating as that can be, when you look at the team he's had since he came back then it's the correct approach.
The unbalanced squad and lack of quality is a recipe for disaster if someone came in and tried to play front foot attacking football. We are a team that needs to work the fine margins and ensure they come out on our side more often than not.
Unfortunately his approach also becomes horribly pragmatic and at the worst times extremely stubborn, persisting with things that allowed us to come out on the right side of the fine margins, but no longer work... That's when Moyes' approach becomes a problem rather than a solution

Since Eddie Howe took over at Newcastle (5 years ago), only 4 teams have accrued more points than Newcastle over that period.
He's shite though apparently, definitely not good enough for us, can't believe people would even consider him.
There's only three or four teams spent more than him as well though. Over £700m spent for a Carabao Cup isn't exactly a great return in their investment and his net spend only looks half decent due to the bonkers money the got for the likes of Isak. People go on like he's worked on a shoestring budget with one hand tied behind his back.

He's not worked on a shoestring budget, but he's done a good job regardless of spend. Over that time Man U, Chelsea and Spurs all spent a fortune and gained less points, so you can't just boil everything down to money spent.
4th, 7th and 5th, plus beating some big names in the champions league and putting in great performances against the likes of PSG, winning a trophy. It's been a really good tenure from Howe, and he deserves plenty of credit for what he achieved there.
I don’t think Howe’s a bad manager, I just think his teams play playground stuff and are wide open.
They had one good defensive season with a superb midfield and a centre back pairing in peak form and qualified for the Champions League. Other than that, they’ve been typical Howe teams but with enough quality to challenge higher up the league thanks to Saudi money buying them a whole bunch of very good players in midfield and attack.
He’s fine, we could certainly do worse, but I’m not personally interested in sinking 2-3 years into him when I already know the shortcomings because they haven’t really changed since Bournemouth.

Using Utd, Chelsea and Spurs over the last few years as a comparison isn't really helping your argument.

I'd be happy to spend double that for a league cup win, to be honest
