If he wore his full clown makeup and giant red nose and massive shoes I might let him hand me the cheque.

He’s still getting an inevitable door slam though.

I always like it when an excellent team beats a load of individuals personally. Enjoyed that.

I’d rather we played Spain than France in the final.

Our defence wouldn’t have been good enough to contain France.

If England get through, well it'll be miracle to beat Spain to win the WC.

Brilliant performance from Spain. Totally shut down France as an attacking force, create chances to win the game and Deschamps had no answer

Not getting ahead of myself, but if England win tomorrow, the last four euro/world cup finals will have been:

England vs Spain (Women's World Cup 2023)
England vs Spain (Men's Euro 2024)
England vs Spain (Women's Euro 2025)
England vs Spain (Men's World Cup 2026)

I enjoyed that, I thought Spain were superb and they didn’t bore me. Particularly enjoyed Dani Olmo, I haven’t seen much of him before but thought he was excellent (as were most of the Spanish to be fair).

France should be ashamed, too many threw in the towel in those last 15-20 minutes including Mbappe.

Absolute masterclass by Spain, controlled the game from start to finish.

I don't know how we beat them if we do get to the final, but I'm very happy that this time we'll have Tuchel as manager if we do.

Would be a very interesting comparison to Southgate in the Euros if it is England in the final.

I would like Spain v Argentina just got something a bit different though.

Spain had all the hallmarks of a team peaking at just the right time, ready to put in a big performance when needed.

France the classic best team in the tournament that peaked too soon.

Happy either way now.

Would love us to get to the final but Spain vs Argentina is a brilliant fixture that we’ve never seen before.

And it isn't simply a nostalgic viewpoint with rose tinted glasses.

It's just true.

Ah well, it’s gonna be the same final fixture as the last Euros won’t it.

Poor France, on Bastille day too.
