World Cup 2026
Re: World Cup 2026
Oh apparently the ball hit the overhead camera wire from the keeper's kick in the lead up to the goal
Rules are drop ball from where the ball made contact, but FIFA have said the sensor in the ball shows no contact... Did it look like it hit it and impacted the flight?

Re: World Cup 2026
Argentina win and you have the top 4 ranked teams in the world in the semis, can’t argue with that,
Re: World Cup 2026
5 of the top 8 made the QFs. The 3 that didn't all had something in common with their managers in Brazil, Netherlands and Portugal
Re: World Cup 2026
Looked like it dropped like a stone. Trajectory had it heading for the Norwegian player behind the England player that eventually picked it up.
Re: World Cup 2026
Looked like it on screen, and looks like Nyland complained about the same thing from his angle.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2026 12:28 am Oh apparently the ball hit the overhead camera wire from the keeper's kick in the lead up to the goal

Innocuous perhaps, but rules...
And the panel here all thought it hit it.
Re: World Cup 2026
Switzerland have a few minutes of momentum and chances. Argentinian lies down on the pitch to kill another promising attack, seconds after the tackle he was involved and apparently 'hurt' in.
Player gets up and walks off, and then shortly back on. Job done.
Just no honesty or integrity in this part of the game.
Referees cant do much else but check the 'injured' player. Terrible to see.

Re: World Cup 2026
Justice was about to be served for all Argentina’s diving.
But VAR intervenes.
Embolo wasn't being protected by the refs, he simulates and is now off.
