Yeah played well and he also seems pretty tall so more imposing than Matt Ryan who looked easily beatable even before a single penalty was taken.

Absolutely shit match though, so hope Egypt getting spanked next round.

Tbf I watched Australia twice this tournament and thought they were pretty awful and lacking in any talent, so they did well to get that far. No idea how Turkey lost to them.

Unless that 18 year old lad has banged in a few pens in his career already there are some senior pros in that Australian team who should be ashamed of themselves.

Why are England still only just travelling to Mexico City at the moment, surely they'd want to get there as soon as possible to get used to the alltitude?

Was reports earlier saying you either get there 10 days early to fully adjust, or get there last minute and hope you get through without hitting the aclimitisation period. If you get there 2-3 days before your body is in some kind of shock at the change.

Paul Izzo would have been my pick for the Goalie sub. But then Beach was a suprise to almost all that he started in the Cup considering he was probably third choice.

Think this was Mat Ryan's farewell, brilliant career, so perhaps a bit of nostalgia creeping in with that decision there.

It's a lottery.

Bos' injury doesn't look good, but Herrington played another great game, not fazed at all at 18. Left sided CB star in the making.

That kid is fearless. Cool and calm. Don't be fooled by his appearance or age. And the experience he'll take from this world cup will be brilliant for him. Future leader.

Our best finishers/penalty takers are Irankunda Metcalfe and Bos (subbed and injured) and then our defenders. No issue at all with who stepped up.
