The Friedkin Group
Re: The Friedkin Group
In the latest Overlap (which is fast becoming unwatchable) the younger Kroenke sat down and talked about their vision for the club, the reason they picked and stuck with Arteta and how they view success in stages along the process.
Would just be nice to hear from them, now our CEO has had a go at ruining his credibility with his 'Happily dissatisfied' comment and see if their plans have some genuine ambition.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Another take on “happily dissatisfied’ could be yeah, happy with how things were going with 6 games to go and having a great chance of qualifying for Europe. Dissatisfied because we blew it in the last six games.Bumble wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2026 6:47 pm In the latest Overlap (which is fast becoming unwatchable) the younger Kroenke sat down and talked about their vision for the club, the reason they picked and stuck with Arteta and how they view success in stages along the process.

We're all pissed off with Moyes and the results since Chelsea but taking a step back for a minute - if we’re talking about vision, sticking with the manager, viewing success in stages - why are we suddenly screaming for change? Arsenal fans were doing similar with Arteta a couple of seasons ago.
We’ve gone from being in constant danger of relegation the past few seasons to being close to qualifying for Europe. Yes we blew it with a few games to go but isn’t that what happens with teams who still need massive improvements to the squad.
If our summer business is shit, and next season we’re sticking with the same team selections as this season then I’ll be as pissed off as anyone but I’m prepared to see what happens for now.
The last 6 or so games has been a massive downer for supporters and has shaped how we feel about where the club is going but I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom. Yet.

Whats the vision? We signed a load of players the manager didnt want to use. Long term moyes probably wont be here anyway because of his age
Re: The Friedkin Group
Going round in circles with that one aren’t we. But the vision just might be that we signed a couple of younger players with a view to the future, rather than for right now. Moyes probably won’t be here long term but that doesn’t mean he can’t get us challenging for or getting into europe next season before he’s moved on. He’s actually said as much hasn’t he?777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2026 8:29 am Whats the vision? We signed a load of players the manager didnt want to use. Trying to be positive for once but feel free to carry on with the doom mongering.
Like I said in my post I’ll be joining you if next season carries on like the worst parts of this.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Yeh I get all that and I understand and probably agree with the rationale for the wording, if you break it down.NickNack wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2026 5:52 am Another take on “happily dissatisfied’ could be yeah, happy with how things were going with 6 games to go and having a great chance of qualifying for Europe. Was more a point that hearing from them in some way, shape or form would be welcome. Now we have ended a full season of their tenure.
Fans are a fickle bunch, we like to be thrown a bone every now and then.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Heard a rumour that Roma is pushing hard for Greenwood. I hope they realize we care about more than just winning here. Not happy being associated with that if true.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Roma have their own CEO and recruitment team.
As long as our group knows better, we’re sound.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Got to admit, there's stuff I'm starting not to like about being run under the Friedkins. It's things we already knew was going to happen but still.
It's very much a cold running of the club. Squeezing out as much money as possible from the fans (probably customers in their eyes) whether it be through memberships, ticket prices, blue doughnuts, season ticket hikes, Seat Unique, etc. Don't get me wrong the demand is there because people are still buying all those things but it doesn't mean you have to take advantage of that. The goal of all this is to basically bring in a higher paying customer and lose the local riff raff to maximise match revenue as much as they possibly can.
Then there's the sponsorships. Keeping Stake despite them being the scummiest of gambling companies. How can you have something like Everton in the Community helping people with addiction whilst having Stake plastered around the stadium? Partnering with CMC Markets whose owner is a Baron with a tory peerage and controversial history. Even the really silly stuff like having sponsors light up red around the stadium. It almost feels like we could be any club.
I know this is what we expected. I know they're American capitalists who basically stay in the background. I understand it's miles better than Moshiri and god knows we don't need another Kenwright, but it would still be nice if they made some effort to show they understand the heart of the club.
Even if they could come to a match once in a while it would go a long way.
Maybe that mood completely changes if we become successful rather than meandering like we are but football clubs aren't just businesses, they're communities with a real identity and it's important to keep that.

I mentioned it in another thread, but I get the feeling they're opportunists. They saw the state we were in, and have capitalised on that. They now have a very well established team in the most profitable league in the world, and give it a couple of years and they will look to flip for a tidy profit.Shogun wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:44 am Got to admit, there's stuff I'm starting not to like about being run under the Friedkins. There is no affinity with Everton, they will look to do deals that make the finances look as good as possible - which is fair enough as we have been lacking that rigour for a while.
The fact they haven't ever been to watch us is telling. I think their plan is a few years of stability, maybe get Europe to increase the value, then sell up

Spot on, I don't think they give a fuck other than the money aspect. I suppose why would they?Shogun wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:44 am Got to admit, there's stuff I'm starting not to like about being run under the Friedkins. It's things we already knew was going to happen but still.

Still better than being owned by a bumbling fool or dark Russian money.

They got us for a steal from a desparate seller, they will make a killing as long as we are in the PL.Raptor wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:54 am I mentioned it in another thread, but I get the feeling they're opportunists. Re: The Friedkin Group
The concern would be that they wouldn’t even have to get us into Europe. We could finish 13th for the next decade and the club would appreciate significantly in that time.Raptor wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:54 am I mentioned it in another thread, but I get the feeling they're opportunists. Yet to see anything that even approximates genuine ambition to compete from these lot, yet.
Re: The Friedkin Group
I’m as narky and negative as anyone on the planet about the club surely, but for me it is too early to say.
Re: The Friedkin Group
No one’s making money from football club ownership, lads. It’s a money pit, a vanity project. Or, a sports washing exercise. O dong think the latter applies so we can be pretty confident in what this is.
The uncomfortable truth is that the whole of football is the unlikeable picture painted above. We play the game and we keep up appearances with other clubs, owners and strategies. We’re probably late to the game, which is why it’s going to feel particularly uncomfortable, but it’s the world in which we live. Especially when it comes to football.
I hate it. But what can you do

Re: The Friedkin Group
Don't know what people expect tbh, we weren't ever going to get an owner who genuinely cared about the club beyond the business side of things, they don't exist these days.
I understand not liking Stake and I think the banning of main sponsorship was a shitty half measure by the premier league, but if that was the best deal then it'd be difficult for a business to reject that for a less well paying sleeve sponsorship... Who probably have their own issues anyway.
The reality is we wanted to be run like a modern club and we are now being run that way, and whilst it's removing some connection to the club for people, it's also the reality of modern day football.
Unless a billionaire Evertonian comes out of the woodwork then this is about as good as it gets.
