Start the engines Steve.
IF scotland had just played to their strengths v brazil
even going long and direct and get two CFs in amongst the brazil defenders
but
playing out from the back v brazil - thats got to be down to steve clarkes tactics surely?
they never play like that
disappointed with scotland tbh - expected more from the scots

I didn't expect much more, 3 points and about -1 goal difference was always the target I think, the damage was done in the first game, we didn't score enough against Haiti. We were actually alright in the second half against Morocco and probably should have had a pen, but a team that doesn't create or score many can't be conceding inside the first two minutes.
If they hand picked some extra teams to this years:
Italy
Denmark
Wales
Serbia
Ireland
Chile
Nigeria
Cameroon
Mali
Poland
Ukraine
Costa Rica
Jamaica
Bolivia
China
64 is better than 48 imo. 8/12 3rd place teams have killed the group stage really.
You look at Australia and Paraguay last night, completely different match if only the top 2 teams go through.
Spain have 4 points and are through regardless of what happens in their group with Uruguay on 2 points and Cape Verde on 2 points. Different story if only the top 2 went through.
Obviously means more 'crap' teams but at least there is more jeopardy if somebody does slip up

I feel like the WC is limping a bit now for me.
Not that arsed about any games, not much on to watch now two games are on at a time.
Not much danger of anyone going out hahha
Hoping it picks up a bit for knockouts.
Yeah my interest has diminished somewhat after some initial enjoyment.
Just the lack of danger for most clubs with an almost guaranteed spot in the next round, coupled with teams I have no interest in watching has made it all a bit underwhelming.
At least the knockout rounds should bring a bit more excitement.

You need 5 games a day with that many teams, else you'll be on 8-10 days between games. And it'd go on for 6 weeks.
Which means you’ll need loads of stadiums and cities…
Nice of the US to already offer up to host again in 2038

Yeah, third place teams getting out of the group is a joke.
Better to just make it an even 64 and give the groups genuine stakes like you say. Even if team four in each group will probably be quite poor at that size.
