Players like DMc are why we finished where we did.

Chuck McNeil, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Patterson and Barry in a pile, chuck a match on it and walk away.

Actually, looking at how many of them are defenders is pretty fucking telling.

The fact his move fell through and he played so many minutes after January shows the manager gives zero thoughts about the future.

Should have been nowhere near the first team after that.

Or he was attempting to retain his value so we'd get £20m in the summer possibly.

If he felt there wasn't any benefit to playing Dibling over him in terms of impact on the pitch (obviously his development would be a benefit), then I could understand him continuing to play him.

What I can't really understand is the dropping him and playing Rohl there instead, even if he did really well in very specific circumstances against City.

Imagine when they realise they've swapped Bowen for McNeil! 🤣

Yikes. Nobody with ambition of coming back for an extended stay should be targeting him.

I’ve enjoyed him at times, his left foot is that good and he used to have an engine to prop it up, but the declining athleticism and work rate and non-existent right foot means a club that can get promoted but has trouble sticking truly his level.

Think he makes more sense for a Boro, Millwall, or one of the teams that just missed the playoff than West Ham.
