He's made Europe with us and West Ham?
End of the season has been abysmal and I won't be devastated if he goes but I also think getting someone else in this early is pressing panic button without cause.

I dont really get this raised expections nonsense. Weve got significantly less points than moyes was winning us per game last season and pretty much the same amount as dyche was winning us the season before having spent money for the 1st time. It literally is the same old shite. Weve stayed clear of relegation because we didnt have a points deduction or because we didnt have dyche on self destruct not because weve won any more pointsblueToffee wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2026 4:23 pm I doubt we move him on too. The owners did get a bit trigger happy when the first went to Roma though.
As with a lot of things it's about the expectations, if those hadn't been raised to start realistically thinking about Europe then finishing bottom half but clear of danger wouldn't have been seen as negatively as it does now.
A lot of things go into raised expectations though, including the state of the league. There was an opening this year when there isn't always.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2026 4:32 pm I dont really get this raised expections nonsense. I think your clutching at straws in getting the recruitment right.toffee_scot wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2026 3:58 pm As shit as the past month or so has been I’d still stick with Moyes next season.
But my goodness let’s get the summer recruitment right, surely the team or committee or whatever you want to call it are better placed now and we don’t end up signing £30m teenagers that don’t even come off the bench.

So points return may have been similar but the state of the league gave the chance for Europe. Most fans would've taken a more "stress free" midtable consolidation season on the back of recent years though before a ball was kicked, that did change over the course of the season though as the longer we lingered in the top half of the league.
This is a movie I've seen before....blueToffee wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2026 4:13 pm I don't know if players have looked shite recently because we've not rotated enough, or the players have just been shite.
It feels to a degree we have stagnated because we have often just played the regulars no matter their form. Tim, Rohl, George, Dibling, Aznou etc barely featured across the season. You can't tell me that Dibling couldn't have done what Ndiaye or KDH did that game though.
