Moyes's PPG went from 1.63 to 1.36 this season. The difference between competing for CL and now likely missing out. If we had the Moyes of last season I would want him to stay. He is reverting to old habits so I would be happy to part ways with him in the summer.

Or are good, young managers starting to get wise to the fact that many of the big money clubs don’t know what they’re doing and are a poor step up? We might actually become a good prospect if the likes of United, Chelsea, etc. continue to be unstable behind the scenes.

Most reports suggest Palace is his likely destination but he's holding out for a "bigger" club.

He does seem like a good manager, but in general I think it's prudent to have some wariness with managers particularly with short track records at this level from Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth these days when so much of the success seems is linked to the broader club structure, the recruitment, etc.

Unless/until we have a similar functional structure I'd be a little wary that the success would translate.

Think there's a lot of truth in regards to how well run Brighton Bournemouth and Brentford are and so you cant be sure just how good individual parts of the set up are. Theres been a few move on and not do anything amazing elsewhere

It also may hinder the ability to create a setup similar to those clubs with such a strong willed, experienced manager at the helm.

He was, and still holds the record for the amount of points we've accumulated in one session with 72, that'd have is finishing 3rd this season.

I think watching Wigan at the time it was clear he wasn't particularly good, made them worse year on year (a pattern we'd experience too), and although got Wigan an unexpected cup win he also relegated them that season.

I could see a mile off he'd be a failure if he stepped up a level. Which eventually he proved to be once he dismantled everything good Moyes had created.

I don't get that vibe from Ireola at all, he seems like a genuinely excellent manager and I think if he chooses the right job next he'll go on to win some silverware for a big club.

The question of when to move on from Moyes really rests with some unknowable things (as of right now).

Namely, are the Friedkins and the people they’ve appointed strong enough to sustain the culture of the club when it’s time to transition?

Kenwright wasn’t and would’ve kept pumping money into Bobby until we went down. Moshiri kept cycling through agent buddy recommendations and took us right to the brink of relegation (we were lucky to survive).

The immediate test for Friedkins and crew is whether they can cleanly transition out of Moyes, who is demonstrably stable but with clear limitations.

On top of all that isn’t it common knowledge he prefers 2 year contracts only and took the option of a third season from bmouth because he had no other offers……therefore that being the case he may not fit into the friedkins long term strategy of stability…

You could argue neither does a manager in the twilight of his career.
