New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
The whole city is under heightened alert.
I work in a government building and we’ve really upped our security over the last year.
It will most likely be the decision of the council or the police.
You can’t be having a congregation of 52k people just outside of town without some security protocol.

At anfield they get scanned at the airport and ferry terminal.NomadskiEFC wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 10:31 pm At Anfield they screen the away fans with handheld detectors.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I don't disagree with any of your points.
But Anfield and Goodison are just outside town and have large crowds with this level of security protocol?
And once inside Goodison or Anfield you are in an enclosed space with restricted egress.
Whilst you're all right to quote this stuff at me, my point is that the rules themselves are hypocritical at best and just fucking dumb at worst

Has anyone got a stone? We go to ours every game we get to, but you can hardly see some of them. I don't know if it's grime or they're fading. Will not be fucking happy if it's the latter

I've noticed this - looks like some are definitely being worn down with footfallPaddockoldie wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2026 2:33 pm Has anyone got a stone? They'll be offering a stone refurbishment package at the end of each season for 100 quid!

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
The metal detectors at the dock wall are going nowhere anytime soon. If anything, it's only going to get even more stringent over the next year or two.
Check out a piece of legislation called Martyn's Law, and it will start to become a little more clear. The Premier League are also pushing hard for 100% searching at all grounds, which will naturally make ingress a slower process.
100% searching has already been rolled out at Anfield, and the queues are reportedly horrendous. Check out social media after any of their home games and it's littered with videos of massive queues at turnstiles and people kicking off about the wait to get in. This is what the Premier League are pushing for across the board and is how things are going to be moving forward. They have also trialled metal detector arches at Anfield, so it's entirely possible that they may choose to install them permanently there too.
The impact of Martyn's Law is going to change the way that all large events are handled and will change the experience for all who are attending, as there is now increased pressure and liability placed on the event organisers to mitigate risk and ensure safety.

This is more than fair enough imo.74Blue wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 6:06 pm The metal detectors at the dock wall are going nowhere anytime soon. If anything, it's only going to get even more stringent over the next year or two.

If anything happened people would point fingers at the lack of security.
Just the way of the modern world unfortunately.

Our experience of the arch scanners is a lot of people in hi viz standing about. One guy just waves you through to two on the other side. It goes off loads and we've seen no reaction. Against united, my lad set it off. He shrugged at the guy, as in I don't know why that went off. He said "Go ed mate"

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Which is a real problem. If youbare going to implement searching, then it has to be done properly. Going in half arsed does absolutely nothing to reassure fans that youbare taking their safety seriously.Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 6:43 am Our experience of the arch scanners is a lot of people in hi viz standing about. Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Yes but what you don’t realise is these guys are highly qualified, C.I.A. trained operatives who can detect from facial expressions, body language etc. if a person is carrying a weapon or not, the arch scanners are just a prop to lure people into a. False sense of security, they clearly deemed that your lad. Did not pose a security threat, hence the code word “ go ed lad”Paddockoldie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 6:43 am Our experience of the arch scanners is a lot of people in hi viz standing about. If they’re looking for body language experts I happen to know a rich untapped resource right under their noses
