Didn't think he was all that good today, gave it away a lot. Not his best but he's done pretty well. 7.5/10

Makes us tick, even last night when he didn't have his best game he was still one of our better players, scores, assists, always wants it, looks to pass forward and never hides, he wouldn't look out of place in any team.

Seems to have a good understanding with Illy.

It's no surprise our performances tanked in general when he got injured the same time as Illy and Gana went to Afcon.

Hopefully they carry on this momentum and get back to where they where before the season is out.

Anyone else notice he forgot which side the badge was on the shirt and instead passionately thumped the Castore logo? 🤣

Intelligent and very good in front of a camera, he's a nailed on pundit if he doesn't go into management.

Really good addition to the squad but I'm still not convinced on him as the 10 and think he's much better as one of a midfield three.

Main issue with him as the 10 is that he seems to pick the wrong pass too often when breaking forward with time to think, his technique is obviously there I think it's just a mental thing and at his age I doubt he improves

It's situation dependent for me. I think for games where we want to be on the front foot then I'd have him deeper where he can provide a bit more quality at the base of things. You'd then want maybe someone like Alcaraz in the 10 to be that extra attacking threat in a more chaotic way.

But for games where we expect to have to rely more on counter-attacking then I think the 10 suits him better. We can go a bit more solid in centre midfield and then rely on his technical ability further up the pitch to give us more of a chance to maintain possession in the final third and create better opportunities.

I do agree that some of his decision making in terms of his passing in and around the box hasn't been great recently, but tbh I'd put some of that down to him getting thrown straight back in after an injury layoff.

I wouldn't play him deep in a 4231 with a 10 ahead of him, I'd play him in a 433 as the left sided 8 to get him close to Ndiaye.

I actually think his decision making has been poor on the break all season when breaking into opposition half in a 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3, it's fine around the edge of the box when we're playing intricate play in tight spaces
