I’ve also really talked myself into the idea of a team where the opposing midfield and defense have to try to take the ball off of Ndiaye and Grealish.

It sounds miserable to play against and fun to watch.

If he comes in, smashes it and we build our team around him then he’ll leave a massive hole the next year.

However, that massive hole will be a huge draw factor to whatever young attacking talent fancies themselves coming in to fill it

Good to get Aznou done. Hoping we swiftly move on to the next signing. If we bring in a starting centre mid, starting right winger and starting right back in addition to the players we’ve brought in then I think we can be satisfied with our transfer business - though these do seem like they were more pressing business than the positions we have recruited for so far!

Good age profile on all 4 players we’ve signed so far as well

Agree Stealth.

As frustrating as it has been, what encourages me is that we seem to be prioritising CM and LW/RW as the big money signings. We've brought in Alcaraz, Travers and Aznou relatively cheaply to add depth and spent big on Barry, as it was clearly a key area to strengthen. Even looking at the RBs we've been targeting, they've been largely solid/free options, rather than spectacular.

It'd be great to get Luiz, Grealish, Fofana and Hackney all sorted by EOB tomorrow and training with the squad. They may not even sign for us at all, but I think it bodes well that these are the areas we seem willing to push the boat out.

Feels like we'd be waiting until the end of the window for some of these players while they try and hang on for bigger clubs.

All the Hackney talk I see is Ipswich currently leading the race.

I don’t know who else we’re waiting on but if Ipswich can afford him, we should just make the deal already. He is PL standard, would be an absolute waste to let him go to another Championship club.

Those three are exciting profiles we absolutely should be aiming at, if we have to wait for one then fine, but while stressed over the lack of numbers in at the moment. This is quite pleasing.

A 19 year old Senegalese winger with 8 goals in 15 league matches after joining in January? You get Ndiaye and Gana on the first plane to Como right now.

Easy.

Como only have about 60 players in the squad, not sure they can afford to lose anyone.

He probably thought, like all of us, that we would have had many more in by now.

Just telling it like it is.
