There was gonna be a vote to close this loophole (of selling yourself stuff) but on the day they realised there would be no chance of it passing so didn't bother.

Us included? Im guessing all the biggest clubs think they have enough assets to sell to themselves to guarantee they stayed ahead of the teams below them.

The clubs pulled the vote because they knew it wouldn't pass, and the clubs who would have voted against didn't want that to be made public - no doubt including Everton.
