50m for grealish is about as crazy as it gets. He's not going anywhere unless it's on loan because he's gonna want his 350k a city are going to need to cover most of it.

I don't really feel the Grealish love in, hasn't played more than 30 PL games in a season since 19/20, has only ever got 10 assists in one season and that was 5 years ago, just feels like the costs involved would far outweigh any potential returns on someone who given that last couple of years would be a bit of a punt. I think he'd bring more baggage than anything else, lad's more likely to fuck off to O Beach with his mates on a weekend off rather than put in some extra training to impress his boss.

Think he'd do really well here but like you say at the cost he's just not worth it. It could be 10 to 15m for a loan. That's just silly

Or 3-5 places in the Premier League table when it comes to prize money.

So I guess the counter argument would be could his loan cost actually be offset by the higher league position we'd likely achieve?

Don’t think there’s a snowballs chance in hell of him coming to us, lots of noise now that he could be replacement for Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen, they will have the funds after they’ve rinsed Liverpool for £113 million.

So if we get 10-12 instead of 13-15 would it matter that much? I think we would have to bank on him being much more impactful that that.

I'm no stats man, but there is literally zero evidence that this could happen based on his past few years

Even if we could guarantee X amount of higher places in the league (which we obviously can't), a similar argument applies to anyone we choose to spend that 10-15m on - the aim is that they improve our league position. The difference being that 10-15m spent on a decent permanent transfer is a long term investment which should pay us something back, rather than money spent and gone forever.

I understand what you guys are saying but any £10m - £15m signing is a risk and may or may not have any impact. You don't get a lot for that these days, and although I 100% advocate such purchases there's definitely a counter argument imo for signing someone who would have an instant impact pretty much guaranteed.

Let's face it Grealish is probably going to improve us 99% of the time over a £10m signing this coming season.

I'm not actually saying we should definitely do it, I think personally any loan fee on top of say £100k - £150k a week wages becomes too much, just that people saying it's be a waste of money aren't considering that it's highly likely such a deal would pay for itself and not be us flushing money down the drain.

He’s not going to improve us that much as his two positions are covered by Ndaiye and McNeil and he’s not 99% better than them, any surplus cash that we put in him needs to go on a much better and faster right side.

Plus, it's 10-15m spent with a guarantee there is no long-term benefit.

We have to stop spending money that way. Return on investment is crucial.

Feels like we are going down the wrong path if we attempt to improve on our stronger positions (rather than weaker 1s) unless it's an absolute bargain

For me it's be in the 10 where we're pretty weak with really only Alcaraz for that position.

Playing Grealish in the 10 massively improves us, very little doubt in my mind about that.
