Re: The Rebuild

Mangala, Lindstrøm, Harrison, Alcaraz and Broja are all loans and will just be replaced by similar (or, hopefully, better loans). Gueye is hopefully going to re-sign. Keepers don't count and I'd expect one or both of Virginia or Begovic to re-sign/be replaced for actual peanuts. The point I'm makin...

I do think it’s a no brainier to have him accept and fulfil the contract as quoted.

Hope that's showing Gana as staying?

So how much do we have to spend, and who are we spending it on? We're not waiting for the papers to tell us are we?

Re: The Rebuild

Surely if we need a dozen players (that’s a massive exaggeration) then spending £20m on soucek is a poor decision? These 13 are leaving in a month or two, so we either need to resign some of them and/or we're still down quite a few. All are starters/bench except Begovic. Orel Mangala  Dominic Calve...

Re: The Rebuild

So we need maybe a dozen players just to replace the ones we're losing at the end of the season, we're not signing a whole bunch of unearthed gem big potential U20s for low fees are we. We've managed one in over a decade. If we are, name names. There are going to be players that slightly underwhelm ...

Re: The Rebuild

Surely it's about discovering the next up and coming Souceck? That's the ideal too, but players that are influential as well as being able to improve the first team now are still likely 25yo+ and circa 50m+. And would we be able to attract that sort of player? Perhaps a bit more likely than 4 month...

Re: The Rebuild

Leadership is a nebulous characteristic that it's hard to define or identify externally, so it's hard to say. It wouldn't be my first search criteria, put it that way. But no, I don't think we need a 30 year old lump midfielder, who's good in the air but distinctly average on the deck. In fact I th...

Re: The Rebuild

Nah Don't think we need leadership on the pitch? There was talk when we were after Tarkowski that had the same sort of tone, and while having limitations it's been obvious how good he's been for us, when he's out, but moreso remembering how loose and rudderless we were before he came. This even wit...

Re: The Rebuild

Well he's a leader I guess. We need leadership desperately. He's a decent player, can score, which we've seen recently. Not sure where else you buy a captain, we've no one that qualifies. They're generally not the best player. Norgaard? Odergaard? 😂

Re: Women's footy

She's grating, and I think she's a poor pundit, but in this scenario I'm not sure she's done much wrong. She's speaking of Wright in a respectful manner whilst pointing out that he needs awareness of his position, which she actually acknowledges he has. I think she's actually quite eloquent, and ha...

Re: Women's footy

Not sure she's said a whole lot wrong there, to be honest. Media love creating a bit of controversy around her. Can see where she's coming from too, she didn't bring up Ian Wright, she just answered a direct question relating to him, but the problem is that he gets brought up as being a spokesmen f...

Re: Chelsea v Everton

Sherwood and Hoddle highlighting again Sanchez being poor and again mentioning it should have been a pen. Reckless and endangering an opponent with his forearm. If Myko was a striker would it have been highlighted more.

We apparently can't start him unless we're definitely taking him. We might have other targets too.
