Re: Today's Football 2023-24

Hopefully they'll all be embroiled in a scandal which will ruin their careers before they begin.

Re: Today's Football 2023-24

Find it very hard to care about the competition, with so many of the big clubs still in it and it being shoved into the midweek schedules.

Re: Dele

Paddy Boyland's article just said ''Everton haven't ruled out'' offering him a new contract. I haven't ruled lots of things out, but it doesn't mean they're going to happen.

Nothing to see here.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back

Yeah, if they thought "this would prove we're on top of this and we don't need an independent watchdog sorting our horrendous mess out", they're not exactly making a case for that, are they. It would probably be less egregious to just draw who gets relegated out of a hat, as a live TV eve...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back

The Prem will say ''you should've had the first sanction last season, and that would've relegated you so stop moaning about it''.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back

One thing we do know is that we're not going to get more than 6 pts for the second charge. We may get less with the double jeopardy thing, and if finances are continuing to trend in the right direction. We don't know the extent of our breach or Forest's breach. But we have to assume it'll be 6 pts, ...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back

A lot of Forest fans are genuinely arguing that the Prem is trying to save clubs like Everton, because they have a new stadium on the way and have been ever present, whereas they are trying to make an example of poor little Forest. They also tend to sprinkle a lot of nasty stereotypes about Liverpoo...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

I think what's becoming clear is that we've been naive, complacent and incompetent in how we've handled the matter initially (presumably because we assumed ''working with the Premier League'' meant that we'd avoid any sanctions) but the appeal commission have accepted our mitigation that our numbers...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

Ultimately, as much as it's something positive, the entire thing is still be going to hanging over us until late May so there won't be any respite from the wondering and agonising. The only way we'll get any relief as fans is if we somehow move about 8-10 points clear of the relegation zone. And our...

What's the time line for the 2nd charge and Forest charge?.
The case will be heard by April 8th, apparently.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

On balance I think that's about what we were expecting, so can't be too unhappy.

Just nice to see something vaguely positive, which hopefully might give the players and the crowd a lift for Saturday to get a win on top of the 4 pts back and really use the momentum to move away from trouble.

Chelsea need to get Cole Palmer on the ball in the final third. He's one who doesn't give a fuck about the Liverpool narrative machine.
