Re: Today's Football 2025-26

8 of the 12 3rd placed teams will qualify for the (new) knock out stage. Considering how many poor teams there're gonna be, you'd imagine there's a very good chance of progressing.

Re: Rank the Goalkeepers

Howard was OK, but I'd have Martyn over him.

In fact, I'm not sure there's much in it between Martyn and Pickford.

Re: First and Last Game at Goodison

My story is different to most in that I have only been to Goodison on 5 occasions, but have sat in all 4 stands. In fact, I'd seen us play at Anfield twice (first time was the Kevin Campbell 1-0 win) before i'd ever set foot in Goodison Park. I'd probably been to about 20 away games in London before...

Re: England National Team

It is but that's not an observable attribute. I had a mate ask me once, what is he exactly so exceptional at? Is he lightning fast? Not really. Is he a deadly finisher? Not really. Is he a great header of the ball? Not really. Does he have a cannon-like shot from distance? Not really. Is he an amaz...

English footballers that can speak another language.

I always find this kind of thing quite interesting and today I learned that Lucy Bronze speaks Portuguese. It lead me down a bit of rabbit hole and I found a video of Roy Hodgson speaking Swedish, German, French and Italian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q90C02H2TnY There's Eric Dier who is fluent...
