Vitaliy Mykolenko

Still don't necessarily rate him but credit where it's due he hasn't put a foot wrong defensively lately, looked very solid.

Always backed him defensively tbf. Showed it last week against Salah and today against Bowen. Issue is when you're at home to Luton and need the fullbacks to join in attack-wise. I do think he's showing decent signs of progression though.

He's a very good one on one defender, very rare anyone gets past him.

Head like a 50p today though and twice put is in danger with a header straight to their attacker in the box.

Solid apart from that though and despite his limitations I think he's probably a decent fit for how we're playing under Dyche, especially away when we're just trying to stiffle them as our main objective.

I've always liked him but I wish he'd do more going forward, he's got a really decent cross on him and could do so much more offensively.

Think he's generally been really good since he came back into the team though.

The thing with Mykolenko is that he can actually deliver a decent cross, he just rarely gets into an advanced position to deliver one.

Whereas Hibbert would get forward a bit more, but his delivery was woeful.

I’m pretty confident Dyche and co can mould him into a solid prem defender but that he’ll never be brilliant going forward. Left sided Coleman. Ideally we’ll buy a better player eventually but he’ll do a decent job so new LW first

Think Volodymyr Zelenskyy would be pleased with his defensive capabilities.

Really surprised with how much better he has been lately

Maybe with a better player next to him in defence, it has relaxed him a bit?!

Yeah, not got Michael Keane's anxiety transmitting through to him. Been really impressed with how solid he looks all of a sudden.

Think the reports of him being crap were a bit too quick. He's a solid defender, we'll need better to progress but he's as good as we are getting for a while

We’re starting to see improvements in a lot of players now we have a proper manager.

Dyche knows how to get the best out of defenders.

Think we played almost with Myko as a LCB and McNeil as a wing back, with Patterson advanced in the opposite side.

Allowed us to keep tight tabs on Bowen and play to Mykos strengths. It was very much attacking down respective right sides for both teams, stifled them nicely.
