Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Well, we'll see over the next few matches whether he's easing him back in or he genuinely prefers the current incumbent. It has been three successive matches on the bench for Coleman.
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start given he's just played full games back to back for Ireland unfortunately. If you're trying to ease someone back to full fitness then that kind of thing isn't going to expedite the process.
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Won’t though because he will be knackered from playing two full matches within a couple of days, could prolong his club career if only he would do the sensible thing and retire from international football.

Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
He is super fit and would have no problem playing on Saturday don’t be making excuses already for dyche playing Godfrey against Bournemouth he has had 3 weeks to plan for this game if he plays Godfrey again he is looking for the sack
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
He’s 35 and, has some very bad injuries behind him and has spent the last year on the treatment table.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:08 am He is super fit and would have no problem playing on Saturday don’t be making excuses already for dyche playing Godfrey against Bournemouth he has had 3 weeks to plan for this game if he plays Godfrey again he is looking for the sack
If he’s played two lots of 90 minutes, then, yes, it might be a lot to ask of him to start at the weekend.
Whatever choice is made at right back on Saturday, it won’t be a good one unfortunately.
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
And who is going to sack him, the Toffee Lady ? There’s no one to make that decision.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:08 am He is super fit and would have no problem playing on Saturday don’t be making excuses already for dyche playing Godfrey against Bournemouth he has had 3 weeks to plan for this game if he plays Godfrey again he is looking for the sack
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Just setting yourself up for disappointment here... The guy's just coming back from another injury, the manager didn't rush him back before, so chances are he won't start him against Bournemouth just because he's had '3 weeks to plan for the game'.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:08 am He is super fit and would have no problem playing on Saturday don’t be making excuses already for dyche playing Godfrey against Bournemouth he has had 3 weeks to plan for this game if he plays Godfrey again he is looking for the sack
In fact it'd be pretty dumb to plan for something for 3 weeks with no ability to adapt if the player plays back to back 90 mins and is high risk of breaking down again.

Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Just saw the goal again terrible mistake but Pickford must take some blame he goes to come for the ball and then stops poor all round
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Pickford should claim it. Not sure what Coleman is thinking there, maybe caught in two minds to chest it down to Pickford or get out of the way.
Otherwise miles better than Godfrey at right back.

Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Godfrey us vile shite and Coleman is better but scoring a last minute comical own goal winner is a very big otherwise
Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
He's pretty rusty and played three matches with travelling in the space of a week. Obviously it wasn't good but it was an understandable mistake that you'd back him not to do again.

Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Understandable but costly
Back him to bag the winner on Tuesday night

Re: Our Captain Seamus Coleman
Was finished several years ago, but that goal was on Pickford for me, dreadful keeping.
