Starting to feel like maybe filling the coaching jobs with ex players rather than the beat candidates wasn't the way to go. Our u21s are shite. Plenty of gone out on loans and done next to nowt at much lower levels

The fact is there's not much everton has gotten right in years and years and most of it has been shambolically wrong.
We had bloody David unsworth as academy director and u23s manager at the same time... so good the only job he could find afterwards was Oldham who sacked him. We didn't have standards we had sentiment

They’re shite because we’ve had to get rid of all the best players.

Dyche said himself the system has been gutted.

Never going to evolve, are we? Still going to be microbacteria scrambling around in the swamp billions of years from now.

Good appointment.

Seems to have done a good job as loans manager and seems really dedicated to working in the game.

Has all the qualifications and experience for the role. One which I can’t imagine is easy considering our finances, which is why we probably have to hire internally, but he’s more than a suitable candidate for the role.
