James didnt look right after the clash of heads, and probably should have been taken off.blueToffee wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2026 11:44 am Thought James was really quite poor against Ghana, and was in part involved in some of the super wobbly moments. So on some level I don’t think he should have been starting anyhow, but what a weird choice it was not to bring TAA when that injury withdrawal happened. Or even Garner who can play there and cover for CM area too given Rice has also been having fitness issues. Maybe we’re going to do the Moyes thing and shove a CB out there?
Think the defence has looked so ropey last two games though, he needs to find something far more stable.

Re: World Cup 2026
Yeah it wasn't anything to do with how you wrote or anything like that, but I just thought you were American for some reason. I think we might have had an location field on our profiles on the old forum, maybe it's something like that?blueToffee wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2026 11:34 am Understandable, I probably mix up my spelling of certain words from time to time apart from anything else (or US autocorrect tries to step in). But yeah I’m English, although I’ve lived in the US for a while now.
Re: World Cup 2026
Just tell him that you think his opinions are so bad that you assumed he must be American.
You message me moaning about @American Evertonian and @Blueomar all the time anyway.
Re: World Cup 2026
Is it? Why did I think it was an 11pm kick off?
I think I'll still watch it in the morning tbh, we've been out all day in the sun and my kid fell asleep in the car on the way home which he's not done in years... So don't think he'd manage to stay awake for it. He also fell asleep during the Ghana match so want to watch a full match with him.

"No-one could see that coming”
Except for everyone else
Just common sense to replace an injured right back with another right back, and not some personal fuck you to Harry Maguire and family by picking another centre back
Anyway, no one’s mentioned that Dan Burn can play left back yet…

Re: World Cup 2026
Should have called Lewis Hall up at least, proper LB who had fantastic games against some of the best RWs in the game this season in the champions league.
Spence is a good RB, a couple of others can play there if needed, but we really don't have any options at LB other than O'Reilly and Spence with the latter unlikely now to be able to fill in there.

Re: World Cup 2026
Every ball from James hit first man as well, shocking passing
Need someone like TAA to thread a ball through against teams who sit back.
