Now for an international break.
Hope all of our lads come back in one piece, esp Myko, Branthwaite and Gana

Also I used to like Peter Drury, but his over the top ‘poetic’ commentary is now very fucking annoying.

International breaks are a lain in the arse. There's too many of them, and they're too disruptive.

Yep agreed. Feels like everything he says has to be some epic quote, instead of just talking normally and covering the drama of the game.

Think Osman does this quite well.

Think the shite win the league this season. Man City just not the same without De Bruyne and Gundogan whilst Grealish has dropped off.

Liverpool winning without even playing well and are full of goals. Obviously they have advantage of knowing they'll win at least one match against Man City every season as well.

It's a bit weird as I'd actually say I don't think Man City, Liverpool or Arsenal have been playing particularly well. A bit like Man United too really, they're just a bit lower down. They've all just been grinding out results with better squads.

Tottenham and Aston Villa maybe have had the most cohesive performances, but Tottenham are only as good as their first team and likely will lose to Villa next game too.

It's hard to say at this point though, you'd still fancy Man City but they're definitively missing KDB plus Mahrez and Gundogan as they don't really have the same goal threat and creativity without them (ok they're still fine for goals, but in the closer games they miss those players).

Feel like we're seeing a lot more of that type of goal with keepers getting further and further up the pitch

Saw his name mentioned on the Everton forum so had a quick look at his stats for the season, our old mate Yerry Mina has played 2 minutes of football so far for Fiorentina. Much as we'd have liked to see him stay the club made the right call, he simply can't be trusted to stay fit. Shame really, he could have been up there with the best defenders in the world.

Gutted for him but kind of glad as well.

Seeing him fully fit would’ve been horrible for us to watch as would have been one of the best centre halves in the game.

Shame for him though. Absolute elite defender.

Shankland scores, mad that he only ever seems to get called up when there's injuries or withdrawals. It's only the SPL but he can score goals.

Reasonable result I suppose considering there wasn't anything at stake.

Bulgaria-Hungary was a tough encounter between two teams desperate to shoot themselves in the foot. At 1-1, Bulgaria appeared to strike first by getting 2 red cards in 2 minutes, but the second one was overturned on VAR and instead the Hungarian player was booked for dangling a leg for contact. Emboldened by this, in the very next attack another Hungarian player got booked for diving.

Then in the second half that same player picked up a second stupid booking, before Bulgaria took the lead (which meant Hungary wouldn't get the single point needed to ensure qualification) from a penalty generously described as their second shot in the game.

But when it seemed like Hungary had fucked up big time, in the last moment of the game, up popped a Bulgarian defender to expertly get in front of his own goalkeeper and head the goal into his own net.

What a game.
