James Tarkowski

Post by AjaxAndy »

Seems to have recovered his form after an iffy start to the season, and his partnership with Branthwaite looks really good.

Also that reducer he put on Kudus was brilliant. Completely fair but made Kudus lose all interest after, was exactly what was needed.

He does provide the strength, leadership and solidity that allows Branthwaite to do his thing. Great pairing.

He’s the best of a bad bunch to partner Branthwaite. Seeing what JB has in his locker highlights just how poor the options are. In an ideal world you’d kick Keane out the club asap, buy a quality CB and have this fella taking his place on the bench to bring to see out the game as and when.

As long as he’s playing every minute and giving us a 7/10 every week he’s fine by me.

Sets the tone at the back and very rarely makes a mistake. Sometimes you forget he’s there which isn’t a bad trait for a centre half.

He's a poor man's Jagielka and that's okay. I quite like him.

Playing in a settled 2 with a player who's comfortable on the ball has done a lot for him, as it would for any CB. Him and Branthwaite are good for each other.
