Re: Thelwell talking strategy

I was really impressed with both the update before the Jan transfer window and this latest one.

It’s proactive, clear and concise. It also shows that KT is firmly in control.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

It really is a huge decision for us and the Premier League. Whatever they decide will have serious repercussions for nearly every club in the league (and beyond) when you consider that it could either make us safe or push us towards relegation. It will also have repercussions for City, Chelsea and F...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

Yep nothing in that article other than the hard facts.

Interesting though that they suggest there might be further arbitration ahead, but whether that is a genuine option in this case, I’m not so sure.

Not a chance of that - Brentford will be well clear of relegation and City have turned it around!

Go on Maupay my son! Potentially even make a profit on him at this rate!

Re: Dyche

The thing that pisses me off is the comment “all they have got is set pieces”. That was bandied around yesterday by Spurs manager and Sky. Well, if you actually analyse it, how do you get set pieces in the first place? They don’t just spring out of thin air. You have to have possession and work to g...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

How can the Premier League think it is ok to give out a points deduction AFTER the season has ended, especially when there is no way of even knowing how many points they are going to deduct. What if we then appeal that points deduction? Will that then stray into the following season? The whole thing...

Re: Relegation

The problem with a bad defender is that it’s not just a bad player your getting, it’s also that they make the rest of the defence weaker as well, as other players need to try and cover for their deficiencies and mistakes.

That’s basically what Holgate does to teams.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

I do get a sense that the Premier League will reduce the points. Not because I am biased, but because it will put the league in a giant hole when it comes to sanctioning Forest. Maybe that's what they want to do, but it would be very controversial. I don't understand how you could even try to ration...

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The issue is, what other options do we have? 1. Play Beto and hope that he has a run of form 2. Continue to play DCL 3. Play DCL and Beto together 4. Tweak tactics to allow DCL a different forward role None of the above have guaranteed better outcomes than continuing with DCL and hoping that he turn...

Re: Ben Godfrey

I’m neither saying start him or sell him. But he does look a lot more useful under Dyche than he has done under anyone else. This really is a case of give him a bit of time and room under a good defensive coach (and good defensive players) to develop. We need a squad capable of doing different thing...

Re: Ben Godfrey

Really surprised by Godfrey and how well he has done in the 2 games he has been involved. His positioning for one of the clearances yesterday was outstanding and he has much better athletic ability over someone like Keane. I do think there is a player there that we can coach into form. It might take...

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Charged again

It’s all so very tiring isn’t it. Relegation battles, points deductions x2, potential takeover by a fund with dodgy practices, VAR struggles, a small squad with no money to spend, the death of our Chairman and an owner who hasn’t shown up for a year or so. Oh, and just the small matter of being on t...
